This election was all about image. In both the GOP and the Dem parties. Sadly, McCain’s age hurt his image, as Americans do not seem to value the wisdom that comes with age.
I think the two things that hurt McCain more than anything was the botched handling of the credit crisis and the clumsy Palin roll out (not letting Palin herself off the hook here) which took the steam out of her boffo convention performance.
If the credit crisis could have been staved off for a few months this would have been a 2000 style squeaker.
Once again proving my theory that the best looking candidate on television wins the election.

McCain’s age hurt him very much. There is no way anyone over the age of 55 will ever be elected President (for a first term)in this media age ever again.
