Oh my gosh, I was thinking the same thing on my drive into work this morning!! I love Bob Dole. What a great, great Patriot! McCain had the same qualities, and although I was not thrilled with some of McCain’s choices over the years, a study of his life set me straight.

Except that, once it became clear he could not win, Dole spent the last several weeks trying to salvage House and Senate races. McCain tried instead to salvage his place in the history books, padding his vote totals and the downticket Republicans be damned.

Dole loves his country and his party. McCain loves only himself, and showed it over the past several weeks.
