Obama won because a significant percentage of GOP voters (perhaps 3-4%) didn't vote for McCain or voted for Obama.

Obama won about the same number of votes, nationally, as George Bush; McCain got several millon fewer than Kerry.

That's why Obama won.

Democrats are easy targets, that much is certain. Take out 10 choice counties in this country and it’s Republican for a century.

Maybe NYC, but not the rest of the state.

Upstate NY is full of depressed cities whose industry has left because of the regulation and taxes imposed on it by our lovely government.

Most of the once prospering medium sized cities are run down and economically depressed and full of welfare.

We never see any of that prosperity. It all goes to the NYC.

Don’t kid yourself.

And there was a lot of vote fraud. A sizeable part of Chicago almost certainly voted in Gary...and then there were the dead, the multiple voters, the manufactured votes, etc. I am not saying you are wrong, but no election can be won for the foreseeable future in any area where there is significant vote fraud. I’ll wager McCain had to have a 5-6% margin in order to overcome ACORN and similar organizations in those areas where they were active.

After the 2004 election, I said that the tax-eaters had nearly outvoted the tax-payers. Well, in this election the tax-eaters did outvote the tax-payers.

Is it time for the "Atlas Shrugged" solution?

Yeah, but he carried the Dead demographic, the Double-voter Demographic and the Pet dog demographic. That gave BHO the edge.

Just as an aside, my husband told me this morning that on Fox there were live shots of people celebrating in front of the White House and that there was at least one really big Communist flag being waved about. LOL. The people on Fox were like - “what is that?”

McCain won Indiana, Florida, and Pennsylvania counties 178-48. Our cities are in shambles and the people that live there keep voting for the rats that keep them in their sorry state. It’s really quite remarkable that people can be so stupid. We’ve turned the election into American Idol.

Is it time for the "Atlas Shrugged" solution?

In a way: yes. We need to build powerful social and economic institutions that provide people with an alternative to crawling on their hands and knees to the foot of the throne and begging for alms. That is not "social justice."

We are not suffering a polite cocktail party dispute over "capitalism" vs "socialism." We are witnessing a profound and growing crisis in the economic and political fabric of civilization. "Socialism" is a hopeless fraud and wealth destroyer but what alternative do we offer other than "not socialism?" We know, as conservatives, that just letting the market work its magic will eventually outperform any planed economy to a staggering degree. But political realities leave the free market ever endangered by crooks, fools, demagogues, and fanatics.

What is the solution? I don't know exactly but it is going to be a complex and multifaceted solution. It involves politics, economics, and cultural aspects. Our society and economy is much more complex than it was 25, 50, or 100 years ago. I would suggest that economic ideas has been far outstripped by reality.

Conservatives can not rest on our lorals. Its not enough to believe in the market. We must create entities that will actively use the market to overcome the sort of problems that makes wealth- the engine of all human progress- vulnerable to human stupidity. We can't shrug in the way that Rand suggested, but we can create a world were government is much less relevant.

One of the things I feel sick about this morning is that this election was well and truly stolen in the urban centers and that this will only get worse.

However, I have a plan. Next election, we need to become electon workers. These are one day jobs at the polling places. I know a lot of retired people like to take these jobs. Is it possible that many hired 0bama thugs took all these available positions early on?

If necessary, we may need to get some Freepers to register as Democrats in urban districts to ensure that we get these spots. This may be the only way to prevent fraud. Also we should look and see if any poll workers from this election have ties to 0bama.

Our cities are already in the state of ruin that socialism inevitably creates. They are full of unhappy, desperate, hopeless people who have been brainwashed into believing they are victims incapable of helping themselves, that the purpose of life is just to exist, not to live.

These people are pawns. They are the victims of a terrible crime. The crime of socialism. Men like Ted Kennedy, John Conyers, Bill Clinton, and BHO have raped them of their humanity in the name of "compassion" and "social justice." They can set themselves free but they do not see the trap they are in.

People tell me: "These scum only want handouts, they will never see the light." I call BS. These people are hungry for the truth. A bomb waiting to explode. I say these people are hungry for the message of conservatism. Maybe not the William F. Buckley school of conservatism but a powerful and raw message of self liberation and self fulfillment.

Have we reached out to ? Have we told the poor black people in Detroit or the poor Hispanics that they can be happy and prosperous? Do they know that together we can pull down the Tin Pot Gods who oppress them and together build a better world.

No. And that is why 90% or more of blacks vote for the DNC plantation owners in every election. We can change that. We must.

Those counties are the population centers. There are obviously enough voters in those counties to overwhelm the votes of the remaining 90% of counties. Just as the electoral votes of California (55) wipe out the electoral votes of the majority of the rest of the western states:

Oregon(7), Washington(11),Nevada (5),Arizona(10),Montana(3),Idaho(4),Wyoming(3),Utah(5),New Mexico(5),Alaska(3).

Those are the breaks. If we want to have a Republican president then we must present a viable candidate that knows how to run a campaign.

Look at the vote totals for Mitch Daniels compared to McCain’s. Daniels garnered more than 200,000 votes than McCain and won by 18 points.

A black Houston cop called a radio program this morning and said they’re already seeing an “attitude”. Obviously this guy was for McCain.

Actually, states that get more in government benefits than they pay in taxes tend to be red, while those that pay more than they get tend to be blue, because of the city-rural disparity. You could look it up.

This isn't to defend blue states' voting patterns. But as a conservative city dweller who pays plenty of taxes, I get annoyed with people who live in the country acting like they're supporting me, when the truth is closer to the reverse.
