As of right now, my humble advice to young conservatives is this: Don't go into the military. We don't know how Obama will use you. Chances are, you'll end up in areas not protecting our security or US interests, but fighting and dying in feel-good missions at the behest of the Murthas and Bidens of the world. Somalia. Rwanda. Who knows where.
You'll also run the risk of falling under UN command, and being handed over to international courts.
If you want to serve this country in a manner that will best benefit yourself and those you love, consider the police force. These will be the ones most likely to be sent to quell internal dissent. How handy mightn't it be for many of our young cops to be secretly conservative. You'll be the ones who still have guns if the majority of the populace is disarmed.
Just a thought.
Buy a good rifle and lots of ammo. Practice. Practice. Practice. You might need it sooner than you think.
Not only “feel-good” missions, but also missions to silence conservatives.
Obama will turn young soldiers against their parents.
It is the way of fascism, Marxism and academia.
Keep your kids out of the military.
What about Obama’s proposed civilian security force, which he said should be at least as well funded as our armed and uniformed military forces?

I was going to sign up for the reserves conditional upon whether McCain wins. Guess that will have to be delayed for 4 years.

I expect a draft for Obama’s new Gestapo. Perhaps he will wait 10 or 12 years down the road for that, however.

Young folks ought to reject the socialism and 0bama's BS rhetoric that will be shoved down their throats and think ONLY of using the country as a financial vehicle - it's all this balkanized nation is good for now.

I just posted on another thread the very same thought. My son (and only child) has applied to Navy OCS and I will now encourage him to pull it. There is no way I’ll have him serve when the president voted in the senate to cut funds while troops were in the field (shades of Nam), while retired senior officers carried the water for this guy and while the govt is planning on making beggars of his parents. Let someone else do it...
I have never feared for my two military sons under Bush. I am now scared to death what’s going to happen to them. I wish they would both choose to get out as soon as they can but the oldest has been accepted to Marine OCS. I think the younger one will get out of the Marines when his enlistment is up in March. Thank goodness!

Israel now has no choice, they have to take out Iran before the inauguration. Our military is going to have plenty to do.
What about those of us who already took our oath? And none of our ballots had even been counted when McCain conceded. I have to pop and snap salute Obama as CIC? Yes ma’am.
yes. both of my sons were thinking of joining the military but now i will forbid it! I will not have them fighting and possibly dying for a country that spits upon them and their beliefs.
