...and there is one big failure to blame for this: George W(orse) Bush!

No, anyone with half a brain knew going in that George "compassionate-conservative"-son-of-"a-thousand-points-of-light" Bush was a politically liberal Republican, even though he was morally conservative.

Actually the real political culprit in the demise of conservative power in our country was Newt Gingrich's total mishandling of the "Contract with America". Our golden opportunity to solidify and advance the values and principles that Reagan began to implement was lost in large part through Gingrich's bungling and immorality, total abdication, not unlike what Clinton did during the same time frame. The 90's were a disaster for the GOP - they blew their chance and sacrificed the future of our country in the process. Bush's liberalism, Obama's and the DNC's rise to power, and the liberal GOP are all now part of the price we're paying. The unborn are paying a heavier price however.
