No, anyone with half a brain knew going in that George "compassionate-conservative"-son-of-"a-thousand-points-of-light" Bush was a politically liberal Republican, even though he was morally conservative.

Actually the real political culprit in the demise of conservative power in our country was Newt Gingrich's total mishandling of the "Contract with America". Our golden opportunity to solidify and advance the values and principles that Reagan began to implement was lost in large part through Gingrich's bungling and immorality, total abdication, not unlike what Clinton did during the same time frame. The 90's were a disaster for the GOP - they blew their chance and sacrificed the future of our country in the process. Bush's liberalism, Obama's and the DNC's rise to power, and the liberal GOP are all now part of the price we're paying. The unborn are paying a heavier price however.

I hate to admit you are sooo correct about the past but I have always been a tomorrow kind of guy.

We can and should learn from the past but dwelling,,,well it's not me.

My aim for tomorrow is to get rid of all the rinos, forget PC, rebuild a new conservative party with Sarah and others like her at the top and go from there.

I would still like to know where the hell Obozo was born and if it was Kenya I could put up with plugs far better than the ObummahMessiah.

I don't disagree with your summation of Gingrich's incompetence and immorality. The absolute absurdity of his raving against the adulterous behavior of President Clinton when he, Gingrich, was doing the exact same thing still sticks in my spine as the ultimate hypocrisy. But George Bush is the real and complete failure of tha face of faux conservatism in my mind, and will remain there until my dying day. He is responsible for the debacle before us today and must be held accountable by all whom call themselves real conservatives.
