OK. You've gone out and voted, like a good citizen. Tell us about it.
How was turnout? Were there any problems at your polling place? Who do you think will win your local races?
Voted this morning at 6:15 at my polling place in a blue, small city 40 miles outside NYC. There were somewhere in the vicinity of 200 people in line, most likely commuters voting before heading for the train. What caught my eye was an elderly black woman, caught up in the emotion of voting for Obama, weeping and fanning herself with her ballot. Bless her heart (in the southern sense of the phase).
I am in generally conservative West Michigan.
However, I have seen quite a few 0bama yard signs this year.
My voting place was busier than I have seen it. It took 30 minutes to get to #100 (I was #100).
I saw the neighborhood lesbians there (they have a 0bama yard sign). Hard to say what the others were voting for.
It took me approx. 40 minutes to get in and out.
I just voted in Fairfax County, Virginia. A few young people in line, heavy turnout. mostly foreigners with dem handouts in hand.
In Daviess County Indiana, walked a block to the fire station @ 6:15 and waited 20 minutes to vote. Never saw a line that long before. This is a very conservative precinct also.
Make sure that they do! You will regret it for four long years if you don't!
I have voted in this same precinct for over 25 years and this is largest turnout I have ever encountered.
Great turnout in Lancaster, PA. I was early and people were lined up by 6:30. Polls don’t open until 7:00.
I live in southeastern Indiana and have always been able to wake up and get to the polls at 6am and be able to walk right in and vote. Not today. The parking lot was overflowing, people were parked everwhere and there was 2 lines with over 300 people in line to vote. It took me over an hour to get in, this looks very good for McCain/Palin.
They tried to disenfranchise me but I wasn’t having it. I live in a rural area and I have never missed an election. When I got there, for some reason my name wasn’t in their book. I was LIVID so to shut me up, they let me fill out a form AND they let me vote. The workers said that some of the info they received from the Board of Elections wasn’t correct and they weren’t too happy about it. There were about 7 people standing behind me in line but when I left, the parking lot was starting to fill up. In another hour, I plan to call the Board of Elections and blast them for their incompetence.
They should play that music over the loudspeaker system at every polling place. It would keep the Donks away like garlic to a vampire.
My whole family voted during early voting. All of us voted McCain/Palin. My husband is chief judge at our precinct and I will go by there this afternoon to take him his lunch. At the training session they were warned of possible “problems” and told to call the police at the first sign.
During early voting, they had some fistfights break out.
Also,..for the first time!.. not only did I show my driver's license AND voter's registration card, I had to read & agree with a warning that I was who I said I was, that I had not voted already and that the penalty would be prison if I lied!
I'm serious!!!!!
I think that's WONDERFUL!
I vote after work bump.
Dallas Texas.
Voted a week ago but it took three tries. The first two had two hour wait lines and I did not have time. Third attempt was at a major Republican stronghold and they actually had their act together. I was in and out in about 20 minutes starting with a line of about 60.
Long lines could mean poor management.
Tried to vote in Montgomery County, OH (went for Kerry in 2004) in a reddish precinct. Couldn’t get near it. However, I usually vote an hour later, so I’m going back and will let you know. But this looks very good for us.
I have a friend in Columbus Ohio who just E-Mail me about her Voting experince. She said line was not bad but alot of conversation about Obama's Coal comments in line.
If you haven't vote talk about it too.
Legit voters have no problem with showing ID and certifying eligibility. Every polling place in the country should require the same.
There is no way Hussein Obama is going to turn Georgia blue if I can help it. C'mon Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Indiana, and Nevada!!! As we say in Georgia... Git R Done!!!
See if you can get off work early. It is going to be a zoo at 6:00 PM.
