Barack Obama will probably win the 2008 presidential election. If he does, we conservatives will greet the news with our usual resolute stoicism or cheerful fatalism. Being conservative means never being too surprised by disappointment.
But what if John McCain pulls off an upset?
I'm worried about my compatriots on the left. Michael Powell reports in Saturday's New York Times that even the possibility of an Obama defeat has driven many liberals into in a state of high anxiety. And then there's a young woman from Denver who "told her boyfriend that their love life was on hold while she sweated out Mr. Obama's performance in Colorado." Well, what if Obama loses Colorado? Or the presidency? As a compassionate conservative, I'm concerned about the well-being of that boyfriend -- and of others who might be similarly situated. I feel an obligation to help.
So let me tell liberals why they should be cheerful if McCain happens to win.

If O looses get out the Jim Jones koolaide, that will calm them down. These libs are like children going to a theme park for the first time, there so excited and it builds until it rains that day. Adults with a childs mind. I’ll take that back, a childs mind is more advanced!
Great post. I predict MCCAIN will win by landslide.
My woman would never deny me love over some presidential race. Like a true Conservative chick she treats me like a king. I come first. This liberal limped wrist demonstrates the character of guys like Obama.

You know, Bill Kristol’s smarmy jocularity during this election cycle has really grown old for me. Ever since he was promoting McCain back in 2000, I’ve known that I disagree with his brand of “compassionate conservatism”. When Brit departs the scene at FoxNews, I hope they shake up the panel and dump Kristol, Barnes and Liaison. Very tiresome.
Even if McCain is a clear victor, they're not going to accept it. They'll act out like the children they are, and between that and riots in the inner cities, it will take tremendous wisdom and diplomacy on the part of our elected leaders to sort this out with the least amount of harm to America and Americans (I know, I know, but you have to concede that it's at least possible).
Libs are nothing more than politically selfish, inexpedient, arrogant children. Unwise.

While liberals would consider me a conservative I consider me to be an American and a Christian American at that. I will not accept a Communist running America stoically or with cheerful fatalism. I will do what any real American should do and that is work and fight my ass off to change our Congress and to insure that the Communist only gets a 4 year regime.

Funny any other time... not right now.
If McCain/Palin win... and I believe they will... can we get rid of all of the beltway dims like billy here... those that only play a Conservative character for the press? I am thinking billy, will, noonan and others.

I agree, Kristol is Fox dead wood.
I hope many so called conservative pundits get fired after the election. I plan to make my displeasure with Noonan, Frum, Kirpatrick, etc., known.
