DIXVILLE NOTCH (Reuters) - Sen. Barack Obama won seven of the 10 votes cast for Democrats in the first balloting of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday in the northern hamlet of Dixville Notch, while Sen. John McCain won the Republican balloting.
Ballots by all 17 registered voters were cast and counted just after midnight on Tuesday in the remote White Mountain town that takes advantage of a state law allowing communities to close polls once voting is over and announce the results.
Other than those for Obama, of Illinois, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards got two votes and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson received one. New York Sen. Hillary Clinton received none.
Among the seven votes cast for Republicans, Arizona Sen. John McCain won four, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received 2, and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani won one vote.

Interestingly, the number of voters in the town declined from both 2000 and 2004.
Then the guy at the Dixville Notch polling place must of been announcing fake numbers in front of the 30 media members gathered?
Supposedly most are “undeclared” or independant.
I’m not sure how narrow it would have been if the conservative Democrat George Wallace hadn’t pulled 9% of the vote in Dixie with the American Independent Party.
Darn it, I knew we should have campaigned there.

We got good news in that Sarah was cleared by the Personnel Board up in AK and that her health records showed she was healthy.

He sure did! Nixon carried NH as well.
This is the Obama Effect. These folks don’t want the rest of the world to think their little town is racist.
The real NH community to follow as a bellweather community is a little town in the Lakes region of NH. Hill, NH has voted the winner with correct (national percentages) percentage in the presidential election since the mid 1940’s.
Being a Freeper doesn’t necessarily mean one is made of stronger stuff than a lib.
2008 proved that.
