An obligatory pep talk for the 16-hour holding pattern we momentarily find ourselves in.
We got a real good shot at catching the guy, says Mark Salter.

I am sure this has already been posted, but he is the guy who helped write ( i think all but at least the autobiographies) of McCain... good books actually, especially the stuff on his military service.
Neither a genius or the worst campaigner...right now it is all in the hand of the Sovereign.
Who’s Mark Salter?
I’ve been saying for a couple of weeks that McCain was going to pull-out this election. If you don’t believe it, just hide an watch.
Are you in a Blue State?
Close aide to McCain — probably no one closer.
We have a funny political system. A year ago about a dozen clowns were appearing on stages around the country each being introduced: "Ladies and Gentlemen, the next president of the United States." And no one is ever held to account for this lie!
I’m in a Battleground State!!...FLORIDA!
My sense is that we’re close and closing fast. Fast enough? Don’t know. There are a lot of unknowns in our favor.
At this point with all the polling prety much done the only question that remains is, how tall does Bradley stand? If we are talking about a 1.5 - 2.5 pt swing then we are sitting pretty. If these actual poll numbers are accurate and I don’t think they can possibly be then, yeah, we are toast. By 6:30 we’ll know the winner. Indiana closes mostly at 6 and I expect we’ll have a good picture of that state within 15-30 minutes at most. If McCain is up 5-7 instead of the 1-2 that polls show him we are in for a good night. If we are up 1-3, then we are in trouble.
Check out my final analysis and path to victory map on the Rasmussen battleground thread.
Just got back from making 167 contacts in 2 hours for the McCain/Palin campaign. God bless America.
Bless you. Could I ask you a few questions?
#1. Were they Phone Contacts? (Apparently so.)
#2. Are you in a Red or Blue State?
#3. What was the response from the folks you contacted?
#1Yes.
#2Red state...considered swing (see my profile),
#3 the numbers I called were SUPPOSEDLY of Republicans and Independents who had requested Absentee ballots. Many people did not answer; so I left messages. The vast majority of the people I spoke with had already voted or were going to vote for McCain, though a few were Hussein...and a few undecideds.
They had requested Absentee Ballots but had not voted yet? Hmmmmm......how’s that gonna work?
They supposedly had requested Absentee ballots, we were checking to see if they had returned them...that is all.
If they had not returned them, they either have to return the ballot by hand tomorrow OR go their precinct and vote.
