We should consider it our civic duty to show up on election day and cast our ballot. Not one day earlier or later.

Saw it on MSNBC in Dallas earlier...
Saw it here in NH... Pats blew it. But I’ll sleep better knowin’ the Rev made an appearance nationwide.
Just saw it while watching Desperate Housewvies or Cold Case (can’t remember which)....but it surprised me as it was the very first presidential political ad I have seen on Houston television since the primaries ended.
Technically, that applies to the vote of the Electoral College:
"The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States."
Thanks for your efforts....sometimes those caller lists can be customized and often precinct captains etc. target the most likely voters based on number of previous consecutive votes etc.
Which won’t cover the less-informed, lesser-motivated who won’t ever vote off-year and still are undecided about this Tuesday...

We didn’t really do the polling of Baseball Writers Assn. of America members, but, as one of them, I can guarantee you they are not happy that the start of Game 6 of the World Series (if necessary) will be delayed for a Barack Obama commercial.

Too bad that they can’t add in the audio from the early Obama radio interview (1998?) where he says something about “my pastor, Reverend Wright, shows the best of what the black church has to offer to the community”.

I wonder if it’s too late, though (only one more day of prime-time viewing left before people vote) and also I wonder how effective it will really be in swing states that have been bombarded with negative ads. I’m in New York, a safe Dem state, where we’ve had hardly any ads so this was surprising and caught my attention because it was so unusual to see. I wonder if people in swing states are sort of immune to it all now.

Not to be confused with Rev. Jeremiah Wright in Illinois, here is a true story about a Rev. Joe Wright in Kansas. This event actually happened in the Kansas House in Topeka on January 23, 1996. At the time, Joe Wright was the pastor of Central Christian Church in Wichita and was House guest chaplain that day.
When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new House session, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to ask Your Forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says, ‘’Woe to those who call evil good,’’ but that’s exactly what we have done.
We have lost our Spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values.
We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism;
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;
We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle;
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;
We have neglected the needy and called it self preservation;

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright was pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church has received international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on “The Rest of the Story” on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord’s help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called one nation under God.
If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for everything.”
