They hear “broad band” and think Heart or The Bangles.

Well now Joe, if everybody gets broadband, then I guess everybody gets a gubment issue computer, or perhaps “tax credits” toward the purchase of one, or two, three, perhaps four. Of course, folk who otherwise would not be able to afford a computer should not be saddled with anything less than state-of-the-art hardware and software.

They would not hesitate to hack into everybody’s computers if say, Sue the waitress needs to be smeared.

Along the same lines as "broadband for all" is the news that the country of Australia has issued national filters on the internet that prevents certain websites from coming up on Aussie computers, things like bulimia and euthanasia. What's to keep a US National Broadband from blocking FreeRepublic, National Review Online, WorldNet Daily, NewsMax, Michelle Malkin, Drudge, Powerline, et cetera, et cetera...? Conservatives? We don't need no stinkin' conservatives. They're just hate-mongers anyway, spreading lies and damned lies. Oh, look! A pony! ("Free Internet For All! Come Get Your Bread and Circuses, Comrades!")
