Along the same lines as "broadband for all" is the news that the country of Australia has issued national filters on the internet that prevents certain websites from coming up on Aussie computers, things like bulimia and euthanasia. What's to keep a US National Broadband from blocking FreeRepublic, National Review Online, WorldNet Daily, NewsMax, Michelle Malkin, Drudge, Powerline, et cetera, et cetera...? Conservatives? That's right. They aren't giving broadband - it's about control. They would restrict access by controlling the broadband from DC and we would be paying a new fee on our phone bills while losing our free speech.
