Paid shills are everywhere. Don’t be discouraged or dispirited. We’re going to win this thing!

This was especially prevalent at FR during the primaries, where a certain candidate had different shifts of paid shills here 24/7.

The mods have been smacking down some of the ones during the GE, but there are still some that manage to stick around by maintaining the appearance of a normal posting history.

It’s so shamelessly obvious that some people are either paid to post or are sitting in their basement ‘volunteering’ for this effort.

When I see a mass of Obamabot nonsense, I just cheerfully post:

“Good to see the paid Obama posters are out. I hope you guys are getting paid overtime!”

Keep the response simple and short — also lets people who stumble upon these things know that there are shenanigans going on.

I heard this on Rush the other day, and it was fascinating. It definitely makes sense, and comports with David Axelrod’s style. Axelrod is a media guy, not a political guy. His expertise is in manipulating public perception and public opinion through creating the image of fake grassroots support - it’s called astroturfing, and Axelrod is one of the best.

I encountered one of these in 2004 on the American Idol message board. They are easy to FReep and we should all be battling them on the pop culture boards.

FReeping doesn’t always mean standing on a street corner with a sign. We should be in the off topic forums of AI, SYTYCD, Lost, DWTS, Television Without Pity, etc. Be polite but spank them with sources and facts. They are very scripted and easy to take out.

The term “Psy-Ops” dignifies what is going on with some pretense of sophistication and rigor. It even lends it a sense of respectability.

Folks, what is going on is nothing more nor less than ham-handed Enemy Propaganda. Viewed from outside the United States (over here in New Zealand) it is so Hell-Funny in its lack of finesse it is risible: like a really bad “knock-knock” joke.

(And yes, our Media is doing it too, with our own Election. So we are experts at spotting Enemy Propaganda).

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE ENEMY PROPAGANDA. See it for what it is, laugh at it, make jokes about it, and even distort a few polls if you can to reflect an Obama landslide. It will make his defeat even more baffling to these buffoons.

Or if you can’t do that, spend as long with the pollster as you can: make a game out of wasting their time, turn it into a contest. Time is money to those folks, and to the folks who sponsor them: so help Obama spend a few more of his millions by taking 20 minutes with a pollster to cover a poll that should take no more than two minutes.

Use your imagination. Just don’t let the Enemy Propaganda (or “Psy-Ops” if you really must call it that) get you down.

Vote.

God Bless America

Old Roman saying: sic bastardo carborundum

Don't let the b*stards grind you down.

I logged on to Yahoo mail this a.m. and was greeted by
AP poll shows Obama backers gleeful, McCain's glum
WASHINGTON – That smiling guy walking down the street? Odds are he's a Barack Obama backer. The grouchy looking one? Don't ask, and don't necessarily count on him to vote next week, either.

The wife wondered why I was laughing so loud at 6 a.m. These guys give new meaning to "transparent".

if you don’t know the definition of FUD you are sheep to DNC’s slaughter. Fear Uncertainty and Doubt One definition: Fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) is a “tactic” of rhetoric used in sales, marketing, public relations[1][2] and politics. FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence public perception by disseminating negative (and vague) information. An individual firm, for example, might use FUD to invite unfavorable opinions and speculation about a competitor’s product; to increase the general estimation of switching costs among current customers; or to maintain leverage over a current business partner who could potentially become a rival.

The term originated to describe disinformation tactics in the computer hardware industry and has since been used more broadly.[3] FUD is a manifestation of the appeal to fear.

BTW this whole bailout things is relying heavily on FUD.

Here is a start, for my list of the drive by Media’s FUD

1. Palin might make a mistake 2. She may be more conservative than she claims 3. She has no depth(no Harvard Yale connections, no connections to the Power Elites of our society)

And remember the allegation that our candidate is dumb is an old hackneyed canard. It is brought out every 4 years. Reagan=dumb Carter=brilliant(except for anti-semitic stuff) Quayle=dumb Gore=very intelligent Bush=dumb Gore=super smart Bush=dumb Kerry=Smartest man alive? Palin=dumb Biden=Unmatched intelligence(except for plagiarism, FDR and 1929 television opinion.

Don't forget the election day psy-ops: the media will leak and then heavily report exit polls (after fabricating those polls, if necessary) early-to-mid afternoon in the East showing Nappy Nazi with a solid lead over McCain in key states such as Pennsylvania and Virginia, and doing *very* well even in supposedly safe Republican states such as Georgia, Kentucky and Indiana (thanks to massive ghetto vote fraud, in the case of Indiana).

They will also report Democratic Senate & House candidates doing far better than expected; Liddy Dole (North Carolina) will be trailing by at least 10 points in the early exit polls that are reported, as just one example. Turnout will be reported to be tremendous, record-breaking even, in urban areas. Polls will need to be kept open late in these areas, in order to fabricate votes on the off chance that McCain accidentally closes the gap somewhere.

Nobody should need to ask for the reason that this will happen - it's obvious: so that the members of the party (Republicans) who work for a living will be demoralized and go straight home after work without voting. After all, the media says it's a lost cause; it's all over and the polls were right all along - it's a landslide!

I have noticed a lot of autumn 2008 signup “concern” posters here, that’s for sure.
