ZOGBY SATURDAY: McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday poll. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all...

I can see it now: "Gallup/USA Today: Obama opens up twelve-point lead with three days to go."

Let's brace ourselves. We're conservatives, self-reliant, and tough - we can take it.

How can he go in one day from one point behind to twelve points ahead? Its just laughable!

The Zogby average was Obama +7 and that was FROM YESTERDAY. Today’s Friday number is all that is out and that is McCain+1. The three day track number will be out in 20 minutes, and should be around Obama +5.

I wouldn't bet that it even moves down 2 points based on the post from Drudge below that states "The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling." IF it doesn't drop a couple points then simple math dictates that the last 3 days of polling would have to be something like +10 Obama, +12 Obama and +1 McCain, which is BS.

Drudge posted that “The three-day average holds steady...” so I assumed that meant +7 holds.

Yep. Obama cannot be simultaneously ahead by double digits and be one point behind! Unless he's on the planet Zargon!

The Zog might provide some explanation of his “holds steady” remark in about 4 minutes on his site:

UTICA, New York — Republican John McCain made a small gain against Democrat Barack Obama and has pulled back within the margin of error, now trailing Obama by five points, 49.1% to 44.1%, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking telephone poll shows.

Almost two days worth of the polling — or about half of the current sample in the three-day rolling poll of likely voters nationwide, was conducted after Obama’s 30-minute commercial aired Wednesday evening. There is no evidence it helped him, as he has dropped 1.1 points in the last two days, while McCain has gained 0.8 points during the same period.

Pollster John Zogby: “Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. “Obama’s lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama’s good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on.”

Holy Cow, I was driving tonight, musing about the polls, wondering about the Bradley effect, and telling myself, OK, but I want to see one poll, one somewhat reputable poll that shows McCain leading, even if for just one day, and BAM, I come back and read this, very good news indeed.

Obama’s base is largely too uninformed to know this poll even exists. All they know is that they were told he was a lock. Even if all the polls show McCain up on the last day, Zero’s loss will still be completely unexpected to most of them.

You are right. At this point in time it is a statistical anomaly. However, we have good reason to question the veracity of these polls - not so much because they aren't going our way, but because of the reasons set forth in #494. Another reason: the MSM and opinion shapers are STARVING for socialism. It's that for which they've gone to journalism school.

No matter what the polls say, WE all have to vote, and get our families to vote. My own mother (a disorganized small business owner) lost her ballot, and I exhorted her to get on the phone right away to the Co. auditor and get a new one Monday. I will hound her if I have to. She knows how important this election is.

That much more reason to be ready to defend your family if you live in a populated area, if it comes to that heaven forbid.

They never read Drudge. What the MSM won't tell them, they are in the dark about. If Obama loses, it will be a big shock to them, because the folks who told them it was in the bag lied to them. I would love to see the recriminations on the Left in the wake of an election defeat. With the MSM taking the brunt of it!
