"Selfish"
Obama has become a master of this technique. He did not argue that he is not a socialist. He ridiculed the idea by saying that people call him a communist because he shared his toys in kindergarten is one recent example of this.
Now we have Obama ridiculing people who do not like paying taxes by pointing at them and saying that they are selfish. This is the same ridicule Goebbels to keep Aryans from mixing with undesired races. He said that such people were being selfish by not keeping their blood pure.
I'll have do admit that use of ridicule is brilliant. Most people just see it as funny. They fail to see it for what it really is. They fail to see that it is way of not having to defend their position. It is brilliant but it also very dangerous.
ridicule works both ways -
“0bama just said that you who want to keep more of the money you earn are selfish”
“0bama just demonstrated that he has no clue that there is a different between voluntary charity and the forced confiscation of socialism.”
How much do the Obamas give to charity compared to ANYONE who is republican?

Yes, you understand the technique very well. Another example is the response to the charge that he was influenced by William Ayers, that he was only eight years old when Ayers was blowing up buildings. Of course, the real issue was and is, whether he shares Ayers' lifelong commitment to change America into an egalitarian Socialist monolithic society.
