His audience is now 12 times the circulation of The New York Times, he tells me. 'And you can add up CNN, MSNBC and Fox, and my audience is 20 times that. They have no pretence of objectivity. They are activists now and they make no bones about it. CNN, MSNBC and Fox all opinionise. Like I do. They acknowledge this, and so it has become a battle between the two medias. The liberal media see this Obama candidacy as historic because race is a big deal to them. They think this country committed Original Sin. I actually believe that most of their support for Obama is that they are creaming in their jeans about the historical nature of the campaign. They want to be a part of it.They want to make it happen. They want a stake in it. They want to be able to say they did it if Obama wins.'

I can’t help it. I love Rush!
I remember the first time I ever heard him. It was during the 1992 presidential campaign of GHW Bush vs. Clinton. His show was being simulcast on C-span. I had never even heard his name before but I was thrilled that I finally heard someone that thought about things the way I do! I know there are millions of people who feel that way.
Thank you Rush!
Yep, same here. The program that day featured the ‘Sister Souljah’ mixup. I’ve been listening since.
Delightful!
Pretty good article. The Torygraph is about the only British paper I can still read with pleasure in some cases.
I have listened to Rush more in the last few weeks than I have in a long time and some of the things I have heard from him are startling (in an good way). I have always liked Rush but he is a deeper thinker than I imagined, and now seems superior to most other hosts (may be the reason for his rating). I hope for a time, in the near future, that we hear such sentiment from our representatives. When I learned to type it was “now is the time for all good men to come to the aide of their country”, gentlemen that is now an urgent clarion call.
Oh yes, I forgot the ladies, MY BAD.
Love him or hate him, the rest of the media spends their day responding to him. He is a force.
Talent on loan from God.
He gets me through the day!
Rush is Right
I’ve been pretty anxious during this election cycle, and listening to Rush has been soothing. He calms my nerves to some degree.
Yeah I get out of the office and go sit in my truck at the park over lunch and listen.
He can lull me into rest.
But I always seem to take it all in.
Rush and FR are my refuge from the liberal world we reside in.
Ditto.
I've worried about him the last couple years, he seemed off his game. But..he's roared back this year. Election years bring out his best. This year he's brought his A game.
This is not true about Palin as I remember it
bump
Rush and Free Republic are the only “real” places to go for comfort, intelligent thought, and good humor.
Even other conservative shows, although helpful, are not as insightful.
Has anybody else picked out the obvious lies and attacks in the article?
The time line on the Michael J. Fox issue in conjunction with the painkillers?
The snide comment about the letter he wrote to the judge on behalf of his partner/friend (like Rush should be there too).
I could go on and on, just wondering if anybody else has picked up on these items? Maybe Rush will discuss it today.
I really enjoyed that article, thanks for posting it.
I am sure that I am not the only dittohead who feels like I know Rush, like he’s an acquaintance. Maybe listening to him every day for sixteen years will do that.
Dittos, Rush!
OMG, I thought I was the only one who did that.
I will actually get out for lunch, eat in my car and listen to Rush in a shady spot on side of the road.
