Obama Will Lose PA, Just Like He Did April 22, 2008

by murphy on October 28, 2008

I’m more convinced than ever. Between the race card, the sneering attitude of the media class, and the basic reflex of every American citizen to REJECT a canididate who does not represent their interests Obama will lose Pennsylvania next Tuesday. Maybe even by a wide margin. Americans aren’t stupid — Democrats aren’t stupid and neither are Republicans. There is NOTHING wrong with Kansas. This is a LIE. A lie perpetrated by the elite and esoteric theorists of the punditocracy because it is an effective goad to keep us fighting EACH OTHER rather than focusing our efforts on holding the Powers that Be accountable.

A tectonic shift in the attitude of the electorate, a great re-alignment, is underway. Don’t look to the TV for news of this shift. They won’t be talking about it until next Thursday, earliest. By Januray or February someone like Brooks or Frank will write a book titled “The Great Re-Alignment,” or some such, but we don’t need a pundit to know which way the wind is blowing.

Americans, especially Democrats, are waking up. Not, like Gregor Samsa, as Republicans (of course not!) but as unaffiliated American citizens. People who have realized that the Parties are entrenched, out of touch, and CLUELESS. Corrupt even. And did I mention spineless, self-serving, greedy, and second-rate?

We are the real Democratic Party. A few maniacs may have burned our house down, but we’re all together out here on the street, watching and waiting until we can put the fire out for good on Novemeber 4th. And then we’ll start digging a new foundation.

(Why I believe obama will lose Pennsylvania. From Hillbuzz:

In Pennsylvania, we are not alone.

The same people who ran the board for us in the primary — who assured us daily that the polls the media was pushing were wrong in claiming Obama would beat Clinton in PA — tell us on a daily basis that McCain is going to win Pennsylvania. There’s a damn good chance this won’t even be close, if what people are seeing on the ground right now holds, and is indicative of the whole state.

DEMOCRATS are staffing McCain offices across the state. DEMOCRATS are phone banking and canvassing for McCain. DEMOCRATS are raising large sums to fund this last week of campaigning.

DEMOCRATS.

This has NEVER happened before — and the media is ignoring it.”

A-yup.

I’ve added a Contribute button to the sidebar on the right. Please send what you can, if you can. And thank you — because we really are a bunch of scruffy, regular people — not a Republican front, not receiving ANY support from ANY outside groups or candidates or rich people.

TIM Murphy (not that 'other Murphy') is my rep too.

I bet you got the same letter I did...I called after the first bail out vote to commend Rep. Murphy for his vote...and I called again, prior to the second vote, to offer my encouragement to 'stay strong.' And I got a really nice letter...that referenced both calls.

Just an FYI...Murtha ads have been running during Quinn and Rose's Warroom...and during Rush. The irony of the that is just too sweet...but the first time I heard it...I thought I would get sick (til I thought it thru).

If Barry gets dismissed (please!!!) on Tuesday...then, IMO, Hillary and the Clintonistas, rise to the top of the heap in the Democratic party. A rather fractured group to say the least. Payback, for stealing the nomination is going to be a biotch...and I think the infighting will leave them ineffective until they get their (no pun intended) House in order. Don’t forget...Nancy thinks she in charge...and their can’t be two Queens...

True. Every now and then though the enemy of my enemy is my friend applies as it does to this particular situation.

Very, very true this situation is the perfect example of this. PUMAS are very well organized. With any luck Barack Hussein Obama will not know what hit him.

.......... But if McCain wins, and they start the Hillary2012 campaign the next day, then the hell with them.

Think of it as working to together to save us from disaster. Both the Dems and Rep. will live to fight another day.

Agreed. When someone throws you a lifeline you can’t really complain about the smell of their aftershave. Now that the PUMAs are riding to our rescue I think it is simple realism to ease up on thrashing their pin-up girl.

You know who the PUMA’s remind me of?

Zell Miller Democrats, just disenfranchised Democrats who no longer have a place in “their” party.

Let's hope so. I hope many of them can find a new home on the pubbie side. They are really awesome allies (and formidable enemies--with their enthusiasm and determination, they would have Hillary ahead by 20 points right now).

The PUMAs also remind me of another group--the Swiftboat Vets for Truth. The Swifties and the PUMAs are both independent groups that formed in unpreditable ways. Both are groups of citizens who are doing something out of love for our country. Last but not least, without the Swifties Bush might've lost. Could the PUMAs be the ones who tip the scale in McCain's favor this time? Might they deliver PA when all looks lost? We'll see. If McCain wins, he will owe the PUMAs as much as Bush owes the Swifties.

“GO PUMAS!”

Indeed.

And as much as I disagree with Hillary on so many things, I had far more trust in her to understand islamo facism.

I would have felt better if she had gotten the nomination.

Obama may very well get us nuked.

“TIM Murphy (not that ‘other Murphy’) is my rep too.”

He seems like a good guy. I met him up at a local bar/restaurant that my friend used to own. Unfortunately, it was torn down (150 year old hotel where 3 former US Presidents stayed) for a new medical center.

My friend ran for mayor of my town (Brentwood) as an Independent and actually got more votes than our Repub. candidate (he’s a Conservative). Anyway, he stopped by, talked with him for a while, then proceeded to have a chat with everyone in the bar.

Now, this was not a “nice” bar mind you....it used to be a nice, smoky, filthy, hole-in-the-wall that everyone just loved. To give you an idea about the crowd mix there....I am a nerdy, conservative engineer and a lot of the regulars, including my dad, we’re union Dems. Also add my friend “Al the Communist” to the mix (i.e. drunken political discussion usually = war up there).

Anyway, Rep. TIM Murphy (i.e. the good one) stayed for about an hour and listened to everyone bitch, complain, and moan about the current state of the nation (this was in Spring 2006 if I am not mistaken). I, personally, thanked him for his work and asked him about Iraq.

It’s nice to talk with these people in person when they are not campaigning....he’s the real deal....little did he know he actually won over several union people doing what he did during that chat...

I just hope this trend we’re reading about is real....while I whine, moan, and complain about Pittsburgh, I downright love the people here and hope that I don’t have to leave (although Texas is *really* appealing :-) )!

If we could simply kick the politics back to the right @ the County level, I think we could have something special here in W. PA. For example, if someone wanted to WIN the South Hills over, they could start driving home that the Mon-Valley Expressway needs FINISHED NOW....think about it, a nice little triad of Washington, Uniontown, and Pittsburgh, all flourishing, would be one heck of an attractive area to live!!!! Drop property taxes and build more roads and that WILL happen!

I can tell you that Democrats are volunteering at the McCain/Palin Center where I live. I talked to the guy that is the head. The are former Hillary supporters and we are very glad to have them.

"I suspect mostly Obamaoistas watched it, “but” such a gamble has not been taken before in US Presidential Elections."

I never saw it, but I suspect the "News media" will be playing chunks of it over and over again for the next few days as "news" (free campaign ads) while nothing of McCain is shown, (except what is negative) as is the norm. Actually, those PUMA'S have shown that the Democrat party is not completely dead, that there is a coal or two left that can rebuild the party to what it once was before the communists took it over. I wish them all the luck.

True Republicans also have this same task facing us, and should we survive this attack on everything this nation once stood for one more time, we should waste no time weeding the garden and rebuilding the integrity of the party.

Leaving aside party identification, this could have been written by just about anyone from either side. Americans are simply taking their country back.

It is a sobering thought that even the combined strength of the PUMAs and republicans may not be enough to take Barry down.
