WASHINGTON -- In a campaign ad aired at a cost of millions, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama promised a rescue plan for the middle class in tough times Wednesday night as he reached for victory in his 21-month quest for the presidency.

"I will not be a perfect president," Obama said in the commercial. "But I can promise you this -- I will always tell you what I think and where I stand."

Aides described the unusual ad as a final summation of Obama's campaign. They put the total cost at roughly $4 million, enough to show it simultaneously on CBS, NBC and Fox. It also was running on BET, Univision, MSNBC and TV One.

The left has said that President Bush's tax cuts for the “wealthy” were for people that don't need it and didn't ask for it. Well, I'm middle class, and I don't want Barry's help - I don't need it, and sure as hell am not asking for help. I just want to be left alone so I can strive to get above the $150K, or $200K, or $250K that Barry claims is “rich”. But, I guess $150K is the current definition of “The American Dream” - but don't go above that or Barry will cut your n*utz out.

I was going to watch it, out of a sense of morbid curiosity (and so I could yell at the TV, I guess!) but I couldn’t find it anywhere on the channels listed. I’m in northern California ... Did cheapskate Obama just decide not to play it here since he has California wrapped up? Does anyone know?

“But I can promise you this — I will always tell you what I think and where I stand.”

What a joke! He hasn’t even told us why we can’t see his birth certificate or why he hasn’t insisted that the LAT release his fine speech praising his PLO friend or why he shouldn’t be hauled into court for accepting hundreds of thousands of campaign contributions(many of them from forigners) that can’t be traced.
This liar is even slicker than Slick Willie.

Did anyone actually watch this thing? I didn’t, I couldn’t stomach it

I did watch it, and when I see Obama in that type of presentation, all I can think of is what a role model he could be for young Americans, and instead he chose to be a populist demagogue.

I think he may've overreached here, and people could perceive this infomercial as a bit too slick.

But it sure helps to have the drive-by's in the tank for you. Can you imagine Dick Cheney doing this and the caterwauling that would ensue.

If your single, you only need to strive for $75k, $100k or $150k to be considered rich by Obama.

My husband watched it, he said he wanted to see what the (unprintable on FR) had to say. He said it was 30 minutes of self-aggrandizement mixed with syrupy music and narrative.

I read the comments on the NRO blog...they watched it and the comments were hysterical.

Maybe McCain will pull out his big October surprise tomorrow to keep everyone from talking about this.

I forced myself to watch it.

Two questions:

First: what sort of emblem was O wearing on his lapel? It sure wasn’t a flag—seemed to contain his “O” in top center. The retired General had one, too.

Second: Anyone else notice that the “flags” ini the background of the Orlando rally did not have any field...or if they did, the blue was starless?

yes....I watched a history channel show about giant blood sucking spiders on Monster Quest. it was that or watch the blood sucking spiders of the Dhimmicrat party.

At 8:30 I put the reconstituted WS game 5 of Fox from the middle of the 6th inning. Bat, Balls and all. Far superior to anything his holiness had to say at 8.

Obama could have taken some of the money and helped his poor relatives in Boston and Kenya. That would have been change we could believe in. He is out for himself.

Biden contradicts himself, again;

Joe Bidens previous observations;

Biden wasn’t always defending Obama...

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/17/1204594.aspx

On Aug. 1, 2007, when Obama unveiled his counterterrorism agenda, the Biden camp fired off a snarky email congratulating him for his “Johnny-come-lately position” on Afghanistan, noting that during two Foreign Relations Committee hearings on Afghanistan and other subjects, Obama didn’t ask questions about the Taliban, Al Qaeda, or Afghanistan.

>>I think he may’ve overreached here<<

Most people I know weren’t too thrilled that he was causing a delay in the World Series.

Obama told McCain where he stood on taking public financing - and he lied.

Obama said he had no idea Rev Wright gave hate sermons - and he lied.

Obama said Ayers was just someone in the neighborhood - and that was a lie. Obama wrote a review of one of his books and kicked off his political cararr in Ayers home.

Obama said he’s going to help the middle class - but in all his years he’s never helped the middle class. When wealth is “spread around” it’s from the middle class ... not to them

MSNBC : Ølberman has Tank Matthews on right after the Pity Party Infomercial,

Matthews is trying to convice us Øbama is a Great Father,
Tank, convince us a Great Father would take his young children to see Reverand Wright year after year, than you may sway a vote, but probably not from Øprah.

Did BET, Univision, MSNBC and TV One run Obama’s informercial for free?

If they did give time to Obama for FREE they have to give it to McCain too! It's the law!
