Campbell Brown: Obama breaks his promise

keep it up campbell! i might reconsider my feelings towards you! :)

(CNN) -- You may have heard that Wednesday night Barack Obama will be on five different TV networks speaking directly to the American people.

He bought 30 minutes of airtime from the different networks, a very expensive purchase. But hey, he can afford it. Barack Obama is loaded, way more loaded than John McCain, way more loaded than any presidential candidate has ever been at this stage of the campaign.

Just to throw a number out: He has raised well over $600 million since the start of his campaign, close to what George Bush and John Kerry raised combined in 2004.

Without question, Obama has set the bar at new height with a truly staggering sum of cash. And that is why as we approach this November, it is worth reminding ourselves what Barack Obama said last November.

One year ago, he made a promise. He pledged to accept public financing and to work with the Republican nominee to ensure that they both operated within those limits.

Then it became clear to Sen. Obama and his campaign that he was going to be able to raise on his own far more cash than he would get with public financing. So Obama went back on his word.

He broke his promise and he explained it by arguing that the system is broken and that Republicans know how to work the system to their advantage. He argued he would need all that cash to fight the ruthless attacks of 527s, those independent groups like the Swift Boat Veterans. It's funny though, those attacks never really materialized.

I was just making an observation. How you can get ‘praise’ out of that is highly inventive. I’d suggest back off the hair trigger a bit and maybe go take a walk to clear your head.

I, too, am having none of it. This seems much more like CYA for another reason. The polls are skewed and the MSM knows it. This looks/smells more like the media trying to repair some of the damage they did to the McCain ticket so as to retain favor when 0 loses. I think they know that Palin will write off those who were openly her enemies.

As I said before, Obama has eliminated any rationale for any Republican to accept limited federal dollars for the general campaign in the future. And needless to say, he has also jettisoned any idea of a Democrat being believed when they claim they will accept limited federal funds for the General Election campaign.

Rudy was on Greta tonight and he said a crawler should be under Obama’s speech tomorrow night: Paid for with money obtained by breaking his promise.

Campbell said that motherhood has “totally changed her.” We’ll see what “totally” means.

I did see Campbell on tv the other day and she was ranting about the double standard in criticizing Palin for the cost of her wardrobe. She really unloaded. I thought, “Way to go, Campbell.”

Many years ago when Campbell was first starting out, I liked her reporting a lot. Then she did the Rat-mind-meld and that was the last time I tuned her in.

Campbell’s analysis that night made the Fox All-Stars’ analysis look even worse than it actually was.

A transparently phony effort to position herself as objective.

Her show should be called All Bias/All Bull.

Nice.

7 Days to go and NOW she wants to start moralizing about this? Too late lady, take a hike. You're on the Obama bus and thats where you'll stay, no matter how hard you try now to be "fair".

You have shown that you have absolutely no journalistic integrity (not that a prompter reader is a journalist anyway).

As has always been the case, people like Ms. Brown always find religion when its too late.

Don't ask her, ask the nanny.

My eleven year told his grandpa that the only thing Obama has experience with is running his mouth! (I think he overheard the youtube video!)

Oddly this might be one on the best attack McC could make on OBomber this last week..I.E.

"Look at OBomber he went back on his word, he lied, he's two faced, he a hypocrite, look at all this mega money trying to buy your vote ... people your being played by the big media, big money interests"

It’s too bad Campbell’s children aren’t older. When Zero reinstates the draft to populate his domestic police-state army and to force unwilling collegians into medical servitude for his universal health care, it will be too late for her to act. If she knew what he really has planned, she would worry now.

Gosh, we're sorry, Campbell - if Obama wins, you're part of the New Government Media, and everything you say is a lie intended to benefit your Messiah and his party.

Come to think of it, even Obama DOESN'T win, you're part of the New Government Media, and everything you say is a lie intended to benefit your Messiah and his party.

Liberals should be careful about what they wish for, because they just might get it. I told one such pal yesterday that there simply wasn’t enough money to pay for everyone’s healthcare, especially after the financial meltdown, which she admitted was propelled from start to finish by democrats lining their pockets. She looked stunned.

Let’s remember that even our Creator would much rather have a deathbed conversion, than no conversion at all.

Sometimes, one has to be totally faced with what’s really going on, before they get to acceptance.

Let’s not pillory her too much: like a broken watch, she’s been right twice now.... if she comes out with a third, we’ll be hoping she’s finally been “Senorized”.

Like Churchill said... if not a liberal when young: no heart... if not a conservative later: no brain. So she finally found a brain. Good for her.
