The PUMAs are also huge in PA

Can someone explain to me why Hillary supporters will supposedly let their resentment move them across party lines while our McCain resentment doesn't do the same to us?

Someone tell me, are these numbers discouraging or encouraging?

That’s true. At some point, however, McCain is going to have to get a lead in these states.

THESE are the numbers the McCain campaign HAS.

Why wouldn't McCain publish these results to lift spirits?

Yeah, but it was really close. If McCain is polling in the ballpark of Bush’s results, PA could go either way.

Hopefully these #s are real. I doubt it though.

The key for McCain is that he has to do better in Allegheny and the Philly suburbs than Bush did. I think that he will do that.

The other thing is that there are MANY older, FDR Democrats in the PA rural areas who usually vote Dem, but are going to vote for McCain. For example, I grew up in Lancaster, and my grandfather lives up in Columbia county. Most of the old folks up there are registered Democrat, but vote Republican on the national stage. I know some of his friends who reliably vote for Dems, including Kerry last time, who are going to pull the lever for McCain.

I love the cherry pickling of counties here in the sample. Would be the same as polling Florida and just including Duval, Broward and Palm beach. I gotta hand to the Obama trolls today on FR, they are working overtime and have activated lots of their Obomatons here. Nice poll, pick the Dem heavy counties and extrapolate that to the whole state.

I would imagine that Luzerne and Lackawanna will look better for McCain than it did for Bush in 2004. Again, older, white Democrats up there.

Because the PUMAs feel that nObama was way too nasty and disrespectful of Hillary!, plus they also feel that he stole her coronation. In our case, we’re excited about Sarah, not Juan.

“Can someone explain to me why Hillary supporters will supposedly let their resentment move them across party lines while our McCain resentment doesn’t do the same to us?”

Because they felt cheated during the primary process. The final nail in the coffin was the lack of a real roll call at the convention. Also many of them understand what a danger obama is to the country.

Why don’t you look at your screen name and then tell me why you would think anyone in the GOP except the very liberal elite would vote for the baby killer supporter Obama. It is one thing to ask why the Hillary supporters detest Obama but it is another to ask why Republicans don’t do the same against McCain. McCain/Palin are firmly pro-life.

I will answer the question on the Hillary supporters but frankly your question makes me suspect.

It is easy — Hillary lost the election because of ACORN voter fraud in the caucus system. They have a series of videos detailing the fraud in TX and IN. Then we have Howard Dean on FL and MI giving equal votes when Obama was not on the ballot in MI. Then at the Convention they stopped voting in the middle of the roll call. Also Obama/Dean/Pelosi/Reid twisted arms of Super Delegates. They saw how condescending Obama treated Hillary and when he passed over for the VP, they went into action. They were on board before then.

Most of the PUMAs and other groups are not full fledged socialist which is what the Dem Party has become.

Here’s the thing - Kerry won PA by 2.5% last time. That means that if just over 1.25% of the population changes to McCain, he can win.

In my opinion, and if they are true, I’d say they are encouraging. If I were BO, I would be campaigning in PA and if I were Mac, I’d go there too as I have a good chance.

Oh wait, that’s exactly what they ARE doing. Believe me, if BO trusted his 11 to 14 pt lead in this state, he would not be there today.

Wouldn’t it be sweet irony if Murtha sank BO’s ship in PA? And it would be double sweet irony if PUMA’s brought Mac the victory ????

You gotta believe that when Bill and Hill get in the privacy of the voting booth, they are not going to vote for BO.

Anyone here been in a union? I had a relative in an aerospace union. He tried to keep his mouth shut but I think they found out he was a Republican. They froze him out and would not teach him anything so he failed to make it to probabtion.

My impression is many unions are run like a police state. People will inform on you etc. You learn to keep your mouth shut.

If there are any unions around Philly & PA in general, you have to think:

#1 They will not tell pollsters or anyone anything. They have no idea who the pollster is.

#2 Obama’s thugs in ACORN are going to want cushy union jobs. His pals in SEIU - the illegal alien union - are probably tired of being maids and landscapers. Those high paying union factory jobs look pretty good. If you are a white union member and Obama wins - your job could go away very quickly. Not just the rank and file but the shop stewards. Fire Departments, police departments, city workers, you name it.

The other question:
Are union members smart enough to figure this out? Voting McCain seems like a pretty smart and easy way to preserve your livelihood.

I also heard there are a lot of recent racial tensions around Philly due to two cops being murdered as well as at least one white person killed by a possible Obama voter. In addition, you have two powerful Bishops in the Catholice Church in Philly says - no more fooling around on abortion.

Finally the NRA is telling gun owners in PA that Obama will take your gun away and is the worst Presidential candidate in history for gun rights. I have gotten the mailers in FL.
