Yes, on matters of high crimes like potentially forging citizenship, I can see how a judge would let some Obama minion write such an asinine opinion for him.

That is a lie. While the winning side often presents an order based on the reasoning, the judges tells the party his reason for his decision. If Surrick didn't write it, he violated numerous provisions of the code of judicial condut and probably obstruction of justice. If he had extra judicial contact with a party, he must recuse himself from the case.
