Very possibly true. However, with Roberts and Alito on the Court, their petitions will likely be denied since they have no standing on this issue.

They won't be there forever and they alone don't decide these things anyway.

True enough, but they will likely be there for the next 15 - 20 years - long after the whole Obama issue has (hopefully) gone away. While they may not decide the issue in isolation, I suspect that Chief Justice Roberts has a great deal of influence over which issues the Court will entertain and which they won't.
