Unfortunately, he could win without OH, PA and FL.

I agree with your comments.

Once it went to court and they refuse to meet the court's deadline to produce one document, it solidifies the issue in my mind, against the candidate.

Innocent people don't act like this and they don't force everybody else to go to expenses to prove what we are entitled to know.

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE ASKING FOR OUR VOTES, MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS TO RUN. IT'S IS FUNDAMENTAL TO AN HONOST ELECTION, THE RULE OF LAW, AND A JUST DEMOCRACY.

On the other hand, do they want to let these rumors bubble to the surface next week so that they can finally produce a legitimate Hawaii birth certificate in the hope of generating scepticism about other more well founded claims against him and his campaign?

That would backfire in my opinion. Say Barry holds a presser and says--uh, some people uh, think my name is uh, funny or something and that I uh, wasn't even born in uh, America. So, uh, here's my birth certificate.

So then the Drive-Bys tell everyone about how the conspiracy nuts actually thought he was born in Kenya due to a very proud Kenyan grandma who wanted to claim she was there and because he was adopted in Indonesia--but thankfully, folks, Barry has cleared that up so case closed. Then people go on the Internet and start doing their own research and the ladies at the beauty parlor and the guys down at the plant discuss it and before you know it, some have doubts and start thinking--maybe he wasn't born here.

As for the attention from our side issue...nobody wants to be the one who brought down Barry. Otherwise Clinton Inc. would have done it during the primaries.

Found a few interesting passages on Wikipedia:

All persons born in the United States, except those not subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. government (such as children of foreign diplomats) are citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment. Persons born in the United States, and persons born on foreign soil to two U.S. parents, are born American citizens and are classified as citizens at birth under 8 USC 1401.

IIRC, Obama's baby-daddy is...Kenyan? Then there's this:

Two United States District Courts have ruled that private citizens do not have standing to challenge the eligibility of candidates to appear on a presidential election ballot. Robinson v. Bowen, 567 F. Supp. 2d 1144 (N.D. Cal. 2008); Hollander v. McCain, 2008WL2853250 (D.N.H. 2008). In dicta in each of these cases, it was also opined that if the plaintiffs did have standing, the likelihood of success on the merits (which is part of the legal test for the issuance of a preliminary injunction) would be low. The opinion in one of the cases also cited to a statutory method[16] by which the eligibility of the President-elect to take office may be challenged in Congress.

So Berg might be pissing up a rope and it'll take our brave congressional republicans to right this whole mess.

Obama's polling shows this election slipping away. No hope for recovery.

Do you hope this or have real evidence of it?

Expect to witness odd behavior by him over the next few days leading up to Election Day. Almost as if he's throwing the election. By losing, he won't ever have to answer the question honestly about his BC - and won't ever be charged with fraud, mail fraud and a hundred other crimes that the truth would expose him to.

Well, Biden and Murtha are certainly helping there.

Maybe he and Axelfraud can construct some scenario that makes it look like he was unfairly robbed of the presidency and he can peddle his victimhood to an ever greater fortune.

Is that why Axelrod came out with his we're winning 400EV prediction tonight?

I thought it was obvious that I was constructing a plausible, imaginary scenario and from that constructing a prediction of how the O would get out of this terrible bind. Didn’t really think anyone would believe that I have access to O’s polling data. LOL

Results 1 - 10 of about 164,000 for "Is barack Obama a natural born US citizen". (0.16 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,870,000 for obama citizenship. (0.15 seconds)

If O decides that losing is his best exit strategy, he will fire Axelfraud or some other high ranking campaign figure, then leak word that he’s been misled by some of his closest confidants. This will fuel speculation in the lap dog media that the internal polls shows the ship is taking on water and it’s going to go down.

O loses, ducks the citizenship issue, retires his dream and lives in style for a long time to come.

I can dream, can’t I?

The threat of riots may be the thuggery pressure to cause the FEC to accept the fraudulent COLB which factcheck.org claims is authentic. The use of racial mayhem is a powerful incentive to ignore the Constitution for some, usually democrats. I’m afraid Obama’s thuggery are depending upon the implict threat of violence to squelch this very real issue.

He apparently has studied Gore's actions closely.

You know, it’s really this simple, We the People, have a constitutional right to see state issued PROOF that he is in fact qualified to be POTUS. What the hell has this country come to that this SIMPLE requirement be met? Are we that lazy, stupid, corrupt, apathetic or ignorant of our rights as citizens that this guy is going to pass the gauntlet and become president?

Once president he can easily manufacture any required documents and basically rub it in our faces. NOW is the time for this to be done otherwise it will be too late. EVERYONE in BOTH parties should be screaming to validate his authenticity or the future looks incredibly bleak for America should he be elected.

Given his shady past and sparse voting record we have nothing to indicate what his plans are for this country. The speculation boggles the mind as to what he will do.

So, all the Berg stuff is just hype - legally. But it doesn’t get to the strangeness of fighting over something that could easily be put to rest.

That video is full of smears...completely true and appropriate smears...

Perhaps I am wordsmithing on you, but if information is completely true, then it is not, by definition, a smear. Why am I raising this? Because Obama himself said McCain is running a dirty campaign full of lies and smears. Quite frankly, I see McCain getting the truth out front, and I Obama not be able to say he is only saying what other Republicans are saying.

Sorry to single you out -- many on this site have also used the term, in my mind, inappropriately.

I don't mind at all. The way I was using the word "smear" was a tad satirical. If I had not placed it in the context of being "completely true", I would have never applied the word to what I view as honest criticism.

I find a dollop of satire can act as a rhetorical Trojan horse, slipping past the filter of hostile readers. They are briefly tricked into believing the sentiment is in their favour...until the context is inverted...and for friendly readers its just a bit of fun.

But in general I think we share the concern that our society is systematically missing many important distinctions between words. Yes smear implies either untrue, or at the least undeserved or un-called for. Another veracity related distinction I fear we are losing is how "rhetoric" differs from "propaganda". Again the difference is honesty.

I did not pick up on that. My computer must be half asleep tonight (smile). You are absolutely right about using satire to make a point. Thanks for the explanation!
