We voted in Florida today and had to wait 90 minutes to get to the ballot. It was rainy, yet people stood in line for more than 2 hours to vote.

The poll worker indicated that more than 3200 people have voted so far in the last three days and it was only noon when we voted.

There are approximately 35,000 people in our District registered to vote.

The poll worker indicated that they have a request in to the State asking to open earlier and stay open later.

I can't imagine the lines for those States that don't have the early voting option.

We are in Lee County and while the line was long the voters were orderly and the poll workers were well organized.

According to Rush, there are only 200 early polling places authorized and the Republicans passed legislation to only allow 8 hours of early voting a day to reduce dim cheating. November 4 there will be 6800 polling places open and one more thing... they have to print out a ballot based on your address in early voting and that causes major delays. The early voting turnout by dims and Republicans is running at the same percentage as 2004 nationwide.

Bad weather lends itself to conservatives voting in droves vs liberals. Most liberals tend to be younger and urban. Ever tried to get a punk kid or a city slicker to do something when it’s “too cold” or “too rainy”? They fold like a card table. So the large turnout may be a good sign for our side.

Liberals aren’t hardy folks. Liberals tend to quit when things get too hard. It’s the liberal way. That’s why they won’t vote when the weather’s too rough.

I remember when I used to work security at the Metrodome, most of the young, non conservative people (I knew they were liberal because all they could do is bitch about Bush) that worked there HATED working outdoors. They all wanted to work indoors like some kind of pansies. None of them had the sense to prepare for the cold weather. A lot of them quit because they couldn’t handle the cold. The older retirees who tended to be more conservative stuck out the season, even when it got too cold.

And if the weather next week in the Upper Midwest is horrible, that would knock out the main Obama constituents in Minnesota and Wisconsin. There will be record turnout in the North Side of Minneapolis and the Eastern side of Saint Paul. Most of those constituents in those areas are transplants from warmer places like Chicago, Northern Indiana, Missisippi, New Orleans and naturalized citizens from Somalia, Mexico and Laos.

Whenever the weather’s cold, they are nowhere to be seen. In fact, crime dips to a low in the colder months of the year in that area. And most of the crime there is committed by either transplants from those areas or their children who are conditioned by their parents that anything below 30 degrees is ice cold.

They will NOT show up if it’s too cold.

It could take an act of God, but we might be able to win if it’s too cold for the FIBs that inhabit the Upper Midwest.

Also, conservative voters tend to be more passionate voters and tend to be more familiar with how to deal with extreme weather, so bad weather in general in certain key areas of the country can turn this election to our side.
