A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.

We are fighting a war of ideas. We want to demonstrate to our followers, our enemies and especially to spectators that we are rational and moral people. We want to show that we have the best set of ideas. This is our power and weaponry.

Exactly. We need to practice a little self discipline here. We shouldn't have to appeal to the moderator. We just need to act like adults and not little kids in a sandbox.

Al Sharpton and Mike Nifong should be invited onto all the networks to discuss the contrasts between THIS hoax and the hoaxes which Sharpton and Nifong did so much to help perpetrate. In this case a dose of skeptical examination stopped the hoax in its tracks. For Tawanna Brawley and Crystal Magnum, however, there were vicious dishonest scum like Sharpton and Nifong around to suppress critical inquiry and rile up the community. Imagine this latest case with the races reversed and Al Sharpton on the scene to blow things up plus Mike Nifong as a vicious dishonest political partisan interested only in boosting his electoral campaign.
This damages McCain in PA.

Maybe, but let’s examine this in context shall we? There is an artist (in New York City, I believe) that has “art” depicting a gun aimed at Gov. Palin. There is a web site that shows two drawings of Sarah Palin smiling and a following picture of a man’s fist slamming into her mouth and knocking her teeth out. There was also the incident in New York where the middle aged woman had her Mc Cain sign taken away and was beaten with it. Sarah Bernhart (sp?), also called for Sarah Palin to be raped by her “big black brothers”. So if I tend to believe the worst of 0bama supporters, it’s not like they haven’t asked for it with their deplorable behavior.
Didn’t climb on her bandwagon!?! Have you been reading these threads? People turned her bandwagon into a freaking parade. People made all kinds of excuses for her even as her story started to unravel. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from this. For everyone.
It did mention that she was working for McCain though. It’s on her blog, her myspace page and her twitter page. Look, I know people don’t want to believe that one of us could do this but crazy people happen all over. This denial makes us look stupid. We need to repudiate what she did, not make excuses about it.

Not true at all. That’s the lie the DemRATS want us to believe. Reagan was behind in the polls until the last few days. McCain needs to keep pointing out Barack’s socialist policies and his relationship with domestic terrorists. The election will still be very close.
I’m more concerned that she can’t spell “clothes” correctly.
