Toni Miles joined the WLOX News Team in December of 2001. She is now a WLOX News Weekend co-anchor with Krystal Allan. Toni still reports and shoots, and enjoys her time out “in-the-field.”

Toni worked as a reporter at two other South Mississippi TV News stations before she began her career at WLOX. She also worked as the Public Relations Director for the Salvation Army in Gulfport.

Toni graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where she was named the school’s 1999 Outstanding Broadcast Journalism Student. She also captured the First Place award for Spot News Reporting in the 1998 Southeastern Journalism Competition in Mobile, Ala.

After graduating from Southern, Toni worked as an intern on Capitol Hill for Senator Trent Lott. But the Magnolia State beckoned her back from the Beltway.

Toni considers herself blessed because she has the opportunity to get paid for what she loves to do, and has the chance to learn something new everyday. She also enjoys learning about, and telling, the stories of the unique people who live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Toni loves to write, and uses her gift for creativity for many projects outside of work.

Toni is a competitive runner, which often comes in handy when covering a spot news story.

She has a blind Boston Terrier named Buster, who conned her into adopting him by licking her while she was holding him for a Pet of the Week video at WLOX.

But not enough to outrun The Man. Heh, heh.

Guilty!

Such a promising future....real shame.

Having been born and raised on the Coast I saw more drugs during that time do some real good people in, along with some not so good. The Ex Hubby used to work for a company which was owned by a large “Irish” family. Anyway, the son who is now I guess about 40ish was a huge coke head in his day. I am surprised he and the company are still around. The entire family from top to bottom was either a drunk, coke or meth addict somewhere along the lines. I swear they fancied themselves after the Kennedy's! Trouble was they had more money then sense. Plenty of income to throw around on stuff going up their noses or down their throat. So glad old Ex got out of there before he was brought down by them.
