Jeez. Let me think. Would I and thousands of others be heading to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne tomorrow to see Vice-Presidential candidate Tom Ridge. Uh, no.

Yeah, it would have been different alright. I wouldn’t have voted for McCain and. I wouldn’t have sent in money. I suspect it would be different in other ways as well.

A real team player is Tom.
And I couldn't think of a more boring, unexciting and uninspiring pick for VP, not to mention the resurrected videos of the dumb pressers given by the first director of DHS.
Duct tape and plastic wrap, anyone?

Yeah it sure would be different Tom! The Republican base would stay home with a pro-abortion VP pick.
Palin has energized the conservative Republican base like no other candidate. McCain was left for political road kill if he would have not picked Palin.
Grow up.

I wouldn't have been inclined to vote for him especially not the way I am more than excited to vote for Palin.
Ridge must think more of himself than many voters. He sounds like a Christine Todd Whitman with that whine.

Let me tell you this, the ONLY time I sent contributed to this campaign was the night Sarah palin was introduced as the running mate. I went online DURINGT her acceptance speech and did my part because I was electrified by her.
I respect Senator McCain's service a great deal. I'm a member of the military and I think he'll make a great CINC, but moderate Republicans (the Tom Ridges, Colin Powells, and William Welds of the world) are the real problem. In a way I'm glad we're having this debate and even if McCain/Palin ticket wins, Conservatives will have to take the party over.
To: mak5
If Tom Ridge made that comment, it only underscores what many of us have thought about him. Clearly, he wasn’t the right person for the VP slot. Ridge’s pro-choice views would have alienated a good part of the base.
The base is enthusiastic about Governor Sarah Palin, and I submit that we would not have come this far without her on the ticket. A McCain/Ridge ticket would have been a moderate’s delight, but it wouldn’t have had a chance to be as competitive as a ticket the unified the entire base.
Ridge is just expressing a lot of sour grapes, and this childish candor only makes him look foolish.
