I thought that 2006 was a mandate that the public DIDN’T want a congress that would rubberstamp whatever the president wanted.
And even when there was no legal requirement for a 60 vote majority or the Democrats did not even bother to speak during their “filibuster”, the Republicans “respected” the Rats’ temper tantrums.
