Police drag protesters away from Palin motorcade

(CNN) -- Protesters tried to block the motorcade of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Monday, but police dragged them out of the way.
The incident -- just feet from the car carrying Palin -- was captured on video by CNN affiliate KKCO-TV.
Eight to 10 protesters broke away from a larger group of demonstrators and darted into the street in front of Palin's car just after the first police motorcycles in her motorcade had passed, said Acting Chief Troy Smith of the Grand Junction Police Department.
Wearing bandanas and with their faces covered, the protesters blocked the path and held up a large banner. Officers stopped their motorcycles, grabbed the protesters and dragged several out of the path of the oncoming motorcade. VideoWatch police and protesters clash »
At least two demonstrators were tackled and forced to the ground before being pulled away. One officer fell backwards into the path of an approaching vehicle but he was able to get out of the way in time.
Palin's vehicle passed without a problem as other protesters chanted on the sidewalk, about a block from a site where Palin had addressed a rally.
Smith said officers saved the protesters from injury because "the motorcade likely would not have stopped" for them. He said "we don't know what their intentions were" in trying to block Palin's motorcade.

Ok, I watched the video, twice.
At first I laughed out loud at the complete morons who jump in front of a police car line up.
Then I laughed some more how stupid they looked getting dragged out of the way.
Then I got mad when it dawned on me how seriously they endangered the lives of those police officers all for being 3 year temper tantrum pitchers.
And then I got depressed when I realized these morons are probably registered to vote.
The outright HATRED for Palin is incredible. I can maybe see disagreeing, but the hate is so irrational. She is a good woman who loves her country and has fought waste and fraud. What’s to hate? She’s pro-life. I know some are “pro-choice”, but is that what all the hate is about??? Incredible.

It has really got to be more than that. I cannot fathom pro-life causing this irrational hatred. It boggles my mind. I am more frightened of Barack Obama than any other candidate in my short life on earth, but I wouldn’t jump in front of a motorcade because of him. Or wear a “Joe Biden is a pr*ck” t-shirt either.
Maybe it’s just the way people were raised or the crowd they hang with. There is a Christian singer from Atlanta and he was horrified to find out his daughter put a photo on her myspace with the “Sarah Palin is a c-word” shirt on.
Why were they not shot?
One of the protesters tried to shove a cop in front of the speeding motorcade. 2 more feet and he would have killed the cop. We need to get this man NAILED.
Of course, this is legitimate political activity in Bill Ayer’s book. A full assassination would be excellent if it moves the Marxist agenda forward. He said so. And I don’t mean “he said so when Barack was 8”. It’s his view today.
