McCain calls Joe the Plumber, invites him on the trail

MELBOURNE, Florida (CNN)- At a rally in Melbourne, Florida Friday evening, Senator McCain revealed he had called Joe Wurzelbacher.

“I talked to him this morning for the first time ever,” said McCain. “And I want to tell you his sprits are good and he’s a tough guy. He is what small business people all over this country are all about. They are tough and they are good and they want to get ahead and they want to keep their money.” McCain did apologize to the Ohio resident for thrusting him into the media spotlight on the night of the debate according to McCain press secretary Brooke Buchanan.

The night before he called, he appealed to Joe on CBS's “Late Night with David Letterman.” “Joe, if you’re watching, I’m sorry,” he said into the camera.

Buchanan did say that the Arizona Senator invited Ohio’s most famous voter to meet up with the campaign but did not set up any specific stops.

McCain has a rally in that state on Sunday but Buchanan said she didn’t know whether Murzelbacher would appear.

When asked why he called Joe, Buchanan said, “I think he just wanted to reach out to him.”

Whether Joe is there in person or not, he is certainly a star at McCain events. McCain urged others at the rally to contact Joe and share their support. “Send Joe an email and tell him you are with him, ok,” said McCain.

And the crowd definitely seemed to be full of Joe supporters as well as John supporters, with people at the Melbourne rally were wearing tee shirts with a picture of a name tag on them that said, “My name is … Joe the Plumber” and holding signs about Joe like one on stage that said, “Joe’s dough, not Obama’s.”

Joe the Plumber will probably help for a few more days, but McCain will need something other than Joe and earmarks to allow his supporters to drag him across the finish line.

You mean like the rights of an unborn child?

Or how about how John will handle health care?

Or how about how John will maintain our military?

Or how about how John won't let the Bush era tax cuts expire.......

The contrast between Nobama bin Bidin and McCain/Palin goes on and on.

Just because YOU focus on just Joe and earmarks, doesn't mean that John McCain hasn't addressed at length more than those two subjects.

I haven't been McCains biggest supporter, but I was going to vote against Nobama. After paying attention to what McCain has been saying the past week, I am now 100% behind McCain.

I also believe that Sarah Palin will make an awesome president some day!!!

CBob—you are absolutely right.

This is from God. Like the selection of Sarah Palin as running mate to McCain, Joe the Plumber has turned this campaign around.

McCain for all his faults, is fighting. He is engaging.

Like George C. Scott said in the movie Patton about General McAuliffe(”NUTS”) declining the Nazi demand of surrender—a man that brave deserves to be rescued.

John and Sarah deserve to be the next President and Vice President.

And God is not above using a plumber to accomplish His purposes.

So let’s do our part as well!

There is no way for them to counter the piercing effect of their candidate saying he wants to “spread the wealth.” And he even prefaced it by saying, “I don’t want to punish you,” which, of course, comes off at the least as demonstrating that he knows he is TAKING JOE’s/OUR HARD-EARNED MONEY.

Nobama doesn't want to "punish" Hard Working Joe unless Joe asks him a legitimate question that elicits an honest answer from Nobama.

Then Hussein uses his entire dem and press arsenal to bring down a lowly plumber. A common everyday American citizen.

Not only that, Nobama and Biden ridicule him at their rallies.

Keep mocking Joe the Plumber you fools! "WE THE PEOPLE" get it and soon YOU will be hearing from us Hussein.

See you at the polls.....

Joe the Plumber versus Bill the Bomber.

I thought Lou Dobbs posed a very good question last night in his online poll, (paraphrasing): "Do you find it curious that the media has posted satellite trucks outside Joe the Plumber's house, and we now know every little detail about Joe, and we've yet to see satellite trucks and similar media scrutiny of Bill Ayers? Why don't we know how much Bill AYERS makes per year?"

Joe the Plumber has helped reveal what Obama's "change" is really all about. Obama's one response said MORE about what he intends for his administration than any caterwauling by little indoctrinated children and ad naseaum claims of being "hope."

Pray for Joe and America.

“Just because YOU focus on just Joe and earmarks, doesn’t mean that John McCain hasn’t addressed at length more than those two subjects.”

I noticed you didn’t mention McCain’s emphasis on the need to produce more crude oil domestically. That’s his problem. McCain scarcely mentions one of the best issues of all. He just let it die.

It’s not me focusing on Joe and earmarks. McCain missed chance after chance in every debate to score points on those issues you mentioned and others you didn’t mention.

I was one of the very few here he immediately said McCain’s reactions when the financial crisis broke would hurt him. It did, and if he overdoes it, the very helpful Joe the Plumber story will be turned into a joke and a characature by Obama’s MSM allies, as the have been working to do for several days already.

Fox just noted that McCain mentioned Joe the Plumber 21 times at a rally yesterday. If you don’t think that can be overdone, maybe you need to have your political instincts evaluated.

Joe’s been a great help, but it can definitely be overdone.

Joe the Plumber is a sharp guy and his encounter with the Messiah has proven a positive for McCain. But this is also something McCain can overdo, and the MSM will definitely point that out and make it their lead story for a few days.

And you have managed exactly how many political campaigns?

If it goes your way, folks would then be asking, "Has McCain thrown Joe the Plumber under the bus?" The MSM will find any number of sticks with which to beat McCain. If you have hopes that the MSM is going to suddenly start fair balance coverage, don't hold your breath

This theme needs to go big very fast.

Freepers need to spread the word in every place there is a MAC or BO raly.

Purchase plungers and make signs in this theme to take to the rallies.

We are all plumbers now that need to unclog the system from impending over-taxation (Socialism) and the legalized ‘theft’ of our hard earned income.

Call to MAC/Palin campaigns and organize people to go with you.

If you are going to bring a plunger, remember that you can’t bring the stick part into a rally. So if you are staying outside a BO rally, that’s fine. If you are headed into the rally, you need to replace the stick with rolled corrogated paper carried separately until you’re in the rally.

This theme needs to be the universal cry against Socialism and carries the implicit message of unclogging the “waste’ from the system.

A dozen guys with plungers just freeped a BO rally in VA!
Support Joe, the first average Joe to stand up to the tyranny of neo-Marxism!

Fox ran a piece this morning about how the Obama “Thug-ocracy” are digging up dirt on Joe the Plumber ie., personal life and trying to destroy him. Im very concerned about their tactics as this is not an isolated incident. Thug-ocracy describes it well.

“His name is Samuel JOSEPH.....I know several people that go by their middle names, don’t you? And he doesn’t NEED a license until he BUYS the company”

AND he owes back taxes. TAXES -— can’t pay ‘em -—

They (Communist Media) are trying to disparage the guy because he owes back taxes. I believe that is part of the larger message Joe (Sam?) is trying to make. The damn taxes are already TOO HIGH.
