Sunbeam Alpine GT. Don’t ask.
I lived in a sunbeam with two guys for a summer. We had a great time. One could burp in the gastank and go one hundred miles. We hung our clothes on the ariel to dry.
Those were good old days.
Lucas wiring get you down, did it?
I had a Hillman Minx once. Funny looking Mr. Magoo kind of car. Ran pretty good after rebuilding the distributor. And the brakes. And the wiper motor. And fixing some really bad oil leaks. Gave it away for $100. Sort-of wish I still had it. But both front seats fell apart, collapsed. Didn't want to deal with it at the time.
Four hole Ford Pinto rims with radial tires were put on it by the guy I sold it to. An improvement, except that it made it actually lower geared than it was designed to be. The thing was too slow for the freeway as it was.
I think some of the earliest Japanese cars built after WWII used Roots Group (Sunbeam, Hillman, etc.) motor patterns.
Must have been been bad...trying not to ask!:)
You poor man. You poor, poor man.
