Barnes isn’t a snob, merely an idiot. He’s been hanging out too much with Kristol, who is far from a rock-ribbed conservative himself.
They’ve both gone mushy native.
I was thrilled with how McCain spoke to Joe the plumber and explained how small businesses are threatened by Obama’s “promises” to the voters for free stuff.
I don’t think Barnes and Krauthammer, as pundits, can begin to relate to Joe the plumber. I don’t think that type of entrepreneurial spirit registers with them. They’re just talking heads, as is Kristol.
That’s where I was coming from with “snob”. As far as I’m concerned McCain hit it out of the park. I get the impression nothing McCain does would be enough for Barnes, and Krauthammer as well. They’ll just move the goalposts.
