It has been called one of the most historic presidential elections in our nation's history -- Barack Obama versus John McCain. It is a race that pits the iconoclast against the newcomer, the heroic prisoner of war against the first African American nominated by a major party. FRONTLINE's critically acclaimed series The Choice returns this election season to examine the rich personal and political biographies of these two men in The Choice 2008.

We can freep a bias PBS poll but no one watches "The Choice?" oh come on friends, I have been a long time reader/member of this site and I am disappointed that not one of you saw this program?

Dare I say I miss the abuse?

Honestly we worked hard on this, and I would be interested in your opinions (not the flaming so much, but I guess that comes with the posting).

you can count at least one conservative who worked on the show.

bring it on. (yikes!)

To be honest, I doubt very many conservatives or Republicans bothered to watch this program.

It may have been the most even handed PBS Frontline production ever, but given Frontline and PBS’s track record and the unprecedented Media Bias in this campaign- why would we bother?

It’s sortta like Lucy and the football.

well I can understand that, esp as the program starts with the 2004 speech of Obama at the DNC, but one has to start somewhere.

I hope you watch it online if not on air. Go to wwwpbs.org/frontline

I think Itunes has it too.

To show true leadership, PBS could examine the portrayal of Senator McCain and Gov. Palin compared to the portrayal of Senators Obama and Biden. PBS could examine, by word count, positive and negative words; they could consider lighting of pictures and the videography of the presentation of the candidates.

They could undertake an in-depth analysis of the veracity of the claims of the nominees.

Yes, they could.

Does it really matter that he’s African American?

Yes. It does. This wouldn’t be a “historical” election if Obama was Caucasian.

Yes I watched and I’m glad I did. I thought it was even-handed, well researched and insightful. The only thing I was disappointed in was the cursory mention of Palin’s nomination, and wasn’t that photo in black and white? Obama comes off as more calculating and ominous than I expected, but you were just reporting the facts, right?
Congratulations. Good job!
