THE O JESSE KNOWS - JACKSON ON OBAMA'S AMERICA

EVIAN, FRANCE

PREPARE for a new America: That's the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.

He promised "fundamental changes" in US foreign policy - saying America must "heal wounds" it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the "arrogance of the Bush administration."

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.

Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

"Obama is about change," Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. "And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it."

My Jewish nephew (now Israeli citizen) says the problem with Israel is it had too many utopian founders.

Idealism has always been the heart of Zionism. Zionism is no evil thing, far from it. It has always been the cry of Jews in other country to get away from oppression. The problem is that they've done too well in Israel.

The port of Tel Aviv was built by Jewish immigrants, and later they were allotted by the U.N. to a plot of land about the size of New Jersey. They fought for the right to stay there and defeated several Arab armies. And to make matters worse, they've turned their Israel into garden areas, high-tech facilities, and world respected universities.

This is very embarrassing to their Arabic neighbors who haven't done a damn thing with their properties, and many of them have wasted billions of petro-dollars trying to get rid of those pesky Jews.

While there is report that Obama’s camp is distancing itself from the statement, its probably moreso due to trying not to muddy waters more than about his convictions. There is nothing wrong with what Jesse Jackson said. However, the truth does seem to hurt. Compared with the ‘Schlep’ talk all day, what’s wrong with putting the U.S. before any other nation; and dealing justly with other nations, even though we hold special favor of one over another? 5pillar.wordpress.com

I don't understand the 80+% love they give to the dems while they publicly speak of Zionism and Israel like they're dirty words. I will never understand it.
