Congresswoman Schmidt More Seriously Hurt

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt Tri-State Congresswoman Jean Schmidt is back in Cincinnati after cutting short a trip to Afghanistan because of injuries suffered when she was hit by a car on Wednesday.
Schmidt was jogging on Loveland-Miamiville Road in Miami Township early that morning when a car went off the road and hit her. That car did not stop but another passing motorist offered the Congresswoman a ride to the hospital.
Doctors said she suffered cuts and bruises, so the Congresswoman went ahead with a planned visit to Afghanistan. But, during a stop at the US Air Force Base in Germany, Congresswoman Schmidt complained of severe pain and then fainted.
She was taken to a hospital where a CT scan revealed two fractured vertebrae and two broken ribs which were not previously detected. Schmidt was treated in Germany and flew back to Cincinnati.
The Congresswoman will have to undergo further treatment and rehab and has been ordered to conduct a reduced schedule until she is healed.
The Republican Schmidt is running for re-election against Democrat Victoria Wulsin and Independent David Krikorian.
