He should have started acting like a Conservative right after the primary.
It’s much easier to pull the squishy moderates to the right than Conservatives to the left.

He’s toast.

The only problem with the McCain campaign is McCain. He needs to allow his campaign to go negative on Obama. Negative campaigning works. And there is a wealth of negative information about Obama for the McCain campaign to work with. It's an embarrassment of riches.

They’re concerned; they’re very concerned. Good news for our side.

McCain needs to present a series of bold economic plans to counter Obama’s coming out today, and it looks like he may be getting ready to do that per a CNN article.

He better. While attacking Obama’s character is important, voters won’t really care about it if he can’t present an alternative plan.

Too late Kristol.

This race was over when McCain ended up the last man standing in the primary season. With no solid conservativerunning and several lukewarm conservatives splitting the vote among themselves, McCain squueked out a “victory”.

Never before has a major party nominated a man who had contempt for the beliefs of the bulk of his party. Never before has a candidate reserved his greatest criticism and contempt for his supporters while refusing to step up to the practices, policies and beliefs of his opponents.

This race and its sad conclusion was summed up in the video last week where McCain told his supporters that “You don’t have to be afraid of Obama as President.” Just look at the faces of different people in the background as the words came out of McCain’s mouth - smiles turned to groans and smirks.

The Republican establishment of RINO elites is back in charge of the party and their mindset is that of the era of Democrat dominance before 1994 - just be happy with what little morsels liberalism throws to us, as long as we have our status and country club lifestyle protected.

Even a McCain presidency, now a faded dream, would not have fixed this drift toward me-too liberalism. The Obama years will be a disaster, and that will be good, because it will take that to wake up the American people.

Citizenship for illegals, continued voter fraud, retreat and surrender on the political and military battlefields around the world, more terrorist attacks on Americans at home and abroad, re-enactment of the Fairness Doctrine shutting up Rush - that’s what it will take.

Bill Kristol is the ultimate arm chair QB. He pushes for an invasion of Iraq and then, the moment things got challenging, he starts to squak about how x should have been done better or how he would have preferred to see y done differently. Now, after over a year of telling us what a formidable candidate McCain would be, he tells us that McCain is probably dead in the water anyway.

Mr. Kristol, you simply not have the courage of your convictions.

Firing the campaign is stupid at this point. The new strategy of playing up underdog status is a good one. Outside influences are also turning in McCain’s favor. Economy is better today. People are growing suspicious of Hussein. I feel a shift toward McCain.

Carville is running around today saying there hasn’t been a winning GOP ticket without Nixon or a Bush on it since 1928. I’m thinking that factoid could be used in our favor too. This is a GOP ticket unlike any other in our lifetimes.

Whatever problems exist with the campaign stem from the person at the top of the ticket, not much can be done to change that.

Who needs NeoCons!!!

They are almost completely useless to the GOP and are one of the primary factors as to why the GOP is where it is at today.

Problem isn’t the campaign, its the campaigner! People are more fired up over his VP pick that with him! How the hell do you win with that? It’s his ads and the bloggers that have been fighting for McCain. If he wins it will be the greatest miracle since the 69 Mets!

The McCain team was doing just fine right up to the financial crisis.

I have a feeling the problem is not with the staff - but with the candidate.

I tried to post before but I don’t think it went through. I think McCain Palin need to do an Acorn ad comparing what is going on now to what happened in the Nixon Kennedy race. It was proven without a doubt that Nixon lost because of the Chicago mob stuffing the ballot box with votes from dead people. Nixon loved his country and chose not to challenge the vote fraud. The ad should show mobsters stuffing the ballot box, the headlines (if there were any) then todays scene with Acorn, say that Obama gave them over $800,000 a few months ago to “get out the vote” and say it turned out to be an effort to “gin up the vote”. Say that “Obama has promised this radical group, ACORN, that he will bring them to the White House when he is president, to help him define a new agenda for America.” Finish it by saying, “Don’t let them steal your vote. Don’t let them steal this election. Don’t let them destroy this great country. Vote McCain Palin”.

I was thinking the same thing and scribbling a crisp note to our candidate, but now that Kristol’s saying it I have to wonder whether maybe McPalin know a thing or two that we don’t.
