From NBC/NJs Matthew Berger
ST. CLAIRESVILLE, Ohio -- Palin focused on the economy Sunday, suggesting Obama would raise taxes, increase spending and add to the national debt.
Folks, in times like these the last thing we need is a tax increase, she said at a rally in front of a barn. America just cant afford another big spender in the White House.
Palin spent most of her 35 minutes concentrating on the nations troubled economy, part of a new campaign emphasis on financial issues in recent days. Her tough talk on Obamas relationship with William Ayers and views on abortion were excluded, other than a passing message to Obamas opposition to a ban on late-term abortions, which elicited chants of, Killer from the crowd.
Palin said McCain would take on wasteful spending and abuses of power as president.
All across America, I know that theres a lot of anger right now, she said. Theres anger about the insider dealing of lobbyists and anger at the greed of Wall Street, and anger about the arrogance of the Washington elite. And with serious reforms to change Washington, John McCain is going to turn your anger into action.
Palin received a rowdy reception from the community here, who were particularly interested in her views on energy dependence. They shouted for her to discuss the use of clean coal, and when she did, they began shouting Mine, baby, mine. Palin said she would bring that line across the country, and asked permission to plagiarize it, to applause.

Go girl go!!!
And that painting calls for a 4 inch wide brush.
The minute you walked in the joint,
I could see you were a man of distinction,
A real big spender,
Good looking, so refined.
Say, wouldn’t you like to know
What’s going on in my mind?
So, let me get right to the point,
I don’t pop my cork for ev’ry guy I see.
Hey, big spender, spend...
A little time with...me...me...me!
Do you wanna have fun?

How about a palsy?...Yeah!
Wow! Where did you get that swingin’ ‘ad’?!
I emailed it to my husband’s parents in New Jersey, who are divided about who they are voting for.
Back there the NY Slimes rules all their thoughts and they don’t seem to read much else, NJ is so mislead. I honestly think there is a bunch of nice people being led down the garden path for years by the rats.
The problem I have is that Obama just spent all day running attack ads during the NFL games. With zero counter battery fire from McCain. McCain has to get his message out.
LOL !! Did anyone else notice the last line here:
“Palin said she would bring that line across the country, and asked permission to plagiarize it, to applause.”
This has to be an indirect attack on Biden - the plagiarize bit LOL !!!
This was a great rally of about 10,000. The “Mine Baby Mine” rallying cry should be for Tax Payers Too!
I think Obama has about 3 or 4 times as much money as McCain. Though the Republican Nat’l Committee has plenty.
obambi commie homo and probably knows the murderer of DOnald Young
Sounds kind of small, doesn't it? Funny, there were 10,000 people in front of that barn.
“The problem I have is that Obama just spent all day running attack ads during the NFL games.”
And what do you do during commercials of a football game? Better yet, what does your wife do?
Commercials are ineffective at best.
Here is a good article on Sarah Palin’s Saint Clairsville, Ohio visit today, Sunday, October 12, 2008 from a local television’s website (WTOV, Steubenville, Ohio):
http://www.wtov9.com/news/17699274/detail.html
The article states the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office estimated 7,000 to 8,000 attended the Sunday rally and describes the crowd’s enthusiastic response to Governor Palin’s statement that the McCain / Palin ticket was committed to using coal and clean coal technology which would create close to 30,000 new jobs in places like Ohio, the crowd bursting into the “mine baby mine” cheers.
WTOV Channel 9 Steubenville, Ohio is one of the two big “local” television channels in that area that would cover Saint Clairsville, Ohio news.
Here is the other local television station’s website which now has an article on the Sarah Palin rally in Belmont County, Saint Clairsville, Ohio rally today, Sunday, October 12, 2008.
http://www.wtrf.com/story.cfm?func=viewstory&storyid=45381
From this article, one of the major reasons people in that area are supporting the McCain / Palin ticket is the economy, and they believe this ticket has what it takes to help their economy.
Another LARGE issue with this Ohio crowd, according to this journalist covering the rally, is their support of the McCain / Palin ticket’s commitment to being pro-life.
Area professors from Bethany College (a private Christian college nearby) expressed excitement today for the excitement they are seeing their students have towards this election campaign.
The secondary heading to this article says it all:
Governor Palin Addresses Thousands at Brush Run Park (Ohio)
Secondary Heading:
Residents say Palin makes for a “perfect ticket”.
Drill, baby, drill!
This is a subject I wouldn’t broach were I McCain/Palin.
After the pubbies got control of both houses of congress and the presidency they went on a drunken spending spree that made even libs look fiscally sensible.
Good reason they got their hats handed to them since.
Republicans need to walk the walk not just talk the talk about fiscal responsibility.
