It turns out the hockey fans were the nice ones. Here's the Inquirer's report on Palin's day in Philly:

Outside the Bellevue, Palin, sitting in her car, gave a little back and forth wave to the protesters, who in return gave her thumbs down and rounds of boos.

"Back to Alaska, They shouldn't have Asked ya!" read one poster on the median.

Police said about 400 protesters lined the streets outside the hotel, the same number that organizers expected at the fundraiser, chanting to each other and to passing motorists. Inside, Palin got her hair and makeup done at Pierre and Carlo salon.

At times, Republicans attending the event and protesters confronted one another.

"They are hooligans," said Bucks County restauranteur and McCain supporter Andrew Abruzzese, after he flashed a peace sign at protesters, who responded with raised middle fingers. Another Republican complained of being jostled.

Of Palin's rise from PTA activist to City Council to mayor to governor to vice presidential candidate, "You couldn't get a more natural progression than that."

Several Republicans attendees complained of the protesters' vulgarity, especially in light of recent criticism of the behavior of people at McCain-Palin rallies.

Outside Broad Street, waiting for Palin to leave, one man was heard saying, "Let's stone her, old school."

Another protester shouted at someone entering the hotel, "Wait till your daughter wants an abortion, you hypocrite."

Note that Obambi was in four places in Philly yesterday. But 400 of his goons preferred to hurl obscenities at Sarah Palin and her daughters. How tolerant!

you got it. The media is now downplaying leftist hatred to raise the specter of out of control conservatives— John Lewis, Kerry, Obama himself to Mccain: “thanks for toning down the rhetoric.”

See..now that's ugly and a place to try to protect your kids. I used to take my grandkids to freeps. Many times I chatted with Texas Dems about how cute they were. Dems around here also tend to bring their pets and since I like dogs...Anyway , times have changed. It's ugly and mean out there now. People who don't look like locals show up..looking for trouble IMO. I'll take a few boos any day at an event vs these staged protests.

The Obamedia is attempting to set yet another false narrative: The narrative of the McCain “mob.” McCain-Palin rallies are out of control, they wheedle. Conservatives are mad! They’re yelling mean things about Obama and calling him names! It’ scaaaaary!

Paul Krugman is trembling: “Something very ugly is taking shape on the political scene: as McCain’s chances fade, the crowds at his rallies are, by all accounts, increasingly gripped by insane rage…What happens when Obama is elected? It will be even worse than it was in the Clinton years. For sure there will be crazy accusations, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some violence.”

Frank Rich decries “Weimar-like rage” and the “violent escalation of rhetoric.”

Let’s talk about “insane rage” and “violent escalation.”
