Republican vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, second from right, joins Cathy O'Connell, from Erdenheim, Pa., to drop the ceremonial puck between New York Rangers' Scott Gomez, left, and Philadelphia Flyers' Mike Richards, right, before the start of an NHL hockey game Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 in Philadelphia.

Man it is a war on that thread. The owner of the video is erasing anything negative said about Philly and Obama. Ridiculous.
It’s the best place to be if you’re not a Giants fan or a wimp. Take your pick.
Indeed!!!!
The Governor is one gutsy lady — and smart too!
yes, I'm sure he turned away from the whole "good vs evil" struggle for a while to influence some preseason professional hockey.
It’s not a preseason game. It’s the home opener for Philly. Lighten up Sparky.
ha! seriously? it's amazing that I wouldn't know that - seriously. I guess with the Phils 2 games from the World Series and the Eagles in season, nobody around here cares! :)
i went to YouTube and entered a pro-Sarah comment and then went back and saw it was hidden - apparently due to getting a bunch of thumbs down. So I started clicking thumbs down for all the anti-Sarah comments until it wouldn’t let me anymore.
For sure this country is badly divided. A lot of ugly comments from the other side - frequently just name calling.
There were some Obama signs in the crowd. What a stupid idea. I like Piper’s new hairdo, though.
A few? Sounded like more than that.
Dont expect much from those people.
Philly sports fans. They've booed Santa Claus in the past.
Philadelphia is “so racist”? Considering that African-Americans hold the mayor’s office, office of Police Commissioner, and most of the seats on City Council, against whom is this alleged racism directed? It’s so easy to post really stupid stuff without having a clue what you’re talking about, isn’t it. BTW, the Philadelphia metro area (S.E. PA, Southern NJ) will probably go for Obama. Are Philadelphians racist? No. Clueless? Yes.
They booed Santa at an Eagles game almost over 40 years ago. Have you ever read about the idiots that come down to watch Mets or Red Sox play in Philly. They are tough if they feel that the players are not giving their best. It is a rep. that the media likes to keep alive year after year. As a resident of the area I can tell you that the myth is far from the reality.
Any Northeastern city sporting event that she would attended would have brought the same results. McCain is surrounded by idiots. His advisors are the dumbest and most inept I have ever seen. Only God can intervene to save us from Obama.
That daughter in the picture with her melts my heart. She’s about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She always has that great smile and is such a show stopper, always waiving to the crowd and trying to peak around the adults to see what’s going on. What a cuttie pie.

Really? Hmmm.
I think the best place to be is in the Superbowl right after you win. ;)
“It’s also a city and team that was most hateful towards Jackie Robinson in his rookie year. “
That was the Phillies. They also had about 2 or 3 blacks in their lineup in the late sixties. Totally racist ownership.
The Philadelphia team was the Athletics until Connie Mack couldn’t afford them (and was very old, think 90+).
I still remember going to the Jersey shore, warming up the TV, and turning the antenna so we could get the AL.
The Carpenters, aka DuPonts, didn’t care if only 700+ fans were in the stands in ‘63 when Art Mahaffey of the Phillies pitched a one hitter. It was a hobby or make work program, not a job.
As someone who spent his first 38 years in the City of Philadelphia, I can state with confidence that your assessment is correct. But it’s still less socialist than Madison.
AMEN! Wonde4rful post and Sarah is a gift from GOD!!!
That was all cheering when she went out! I know Philly and there is no debate when the BOO BIRDS START!
If there were one or two boos, that was a couple of rotten Obamaites practicing for when Obama looses the Election, modeling themselves after Odinga and Obama’s strategy to destroy Kenya:-)
fkabuckeyesrule: “It’s also a city and team that was most hateful towards Jackie Robinson in his rookie year.”
Come on, that happened when? 1948? That’s kind of irrelevant at this point, isn’t it?
Since the Superbowl is played on “neutral’ ground, the best place to be after the win would be your hometown parade.
