McCain Says No Need To Fear Obama, Calls On Supporters To Be "Respectful"
TPM ^ | 10/10/2008 | Greg Sargent

After taking criticism for standing by for days while his supporters grew increasingly unhinged and hysterical, John McCain did the right thing today, telling his supporters that there's no need to be "scared" of a president Obama and calling on them to be "respectful" towards him.

We have two videos for you from the same event. Here's vid of McCain saying that you needn't fear Obama: "He is a decent person, and a person that you do not have be scared as President of the United States"...

“and many of our rights guaranteed by the Constitution are going to be lost.”

That’s not going to happen... A lot of people have given their lives for this country, And if it comes to that; A lot of folks are going to wake up “in chains (ie-dead).

Thank you for the only bright spot of optimism I’ve heard tonight. Now I can sleep even if it may only be wishful thinking. Noticed Hannity was not on tonight. He must be ticked beyond belief.

McCain thinks the Viet Namese who tortured him are decent people. I’m all for forgiveness but, geez....

Maybe the Viet Cong tortured John LeCain by making him listen to French radio for five years.

Agreed, makes no sense at all.

The only things I can think of that fit the observed facts is that he really isn’t a citizen and is disqualified to be POTUS, or he is just stubborn and foolish enough to say “You can’t make me produce a thing, even if producing it is to my benefit.” Have I missed anything?

That was my thought too: “you don’t have to be scared” translates to: “He is scary!”

I’m not so sure about Hillary. I’ll tell you why. I was really worried when Clinton was looking into whether or not he could run for another term. Furthermore, I was worried the way he kept hanging around after the inauguration. Other things bugged me, like a lot of his staffers not being able to pass certain security clearances. I figured maybe if Hillary got in, they would attempt some sort of takeover.

In fact, this whole financial fiasco we are going thru smacks of some sort of attempted government takeover. It’s how it’s been done in other countries - collapse the economy and then take over the government. And the more we say “it can’t/won’t happen here”, the more vulnerable we are. After all, Clinton did even reduce the military drastically.
