I saw a news piece on a major network---don't remember which---about three weeks ago from Southeast OH. Don't recall if the guy was in Portsmouth, or where, but he glumly noted that he was spending most of his time still explaining that Obama wasn't a "muslim." Now, that says it all. If they are still having to do that in Sept./Oct., no way Obama wins SE OH.
46% would be a victory for Obama considering the generic “D” running for Presidnent has about a built-in 43%. He’s got big problems with the base, but I’m a broken record about it, I’ll just have to wait to be proven right on election day.
Like another FReeper said on a similar thread (paraphrasing):
Polls are meant to shape opinion, not measure it.
LMAO...no, they are not trying to influence the vote...not at all.../sarcasm
Thanks for your post Tator.

People, dissecting polls and using geographic data is a non starter. I dont care what happened in ‘04 or whenever. There is only one way to win this-get the Obama negatives out there. I have signs in my yard with Ayers on them, my blog and Facebook are nothing but Obama shenanigans, and I can tell by my hit counter and comments that Im reaching people.
Driving home from walgreens, I saw not one McCain sign, but a lot of Obama signs. Stop looking at polls (in fact, if I were Jim Rob, I would ban them), and start spreading the work. The internet is a wonderful medium. AND STOP PERPETUATING THE OHIO MYTH!!

“McCain leading amongst whites by only +1”
Now I’m convinced there’s a Bradley effect.

And this is good news how? Did I miss something? Even in my swing state where O is supposedly up 10pt, all I see are McCain signs and stickers, and LOTS of them. Where do you live that you see no McCain signs and lots of Obama?
I live in North Saint Louis County. And I never said that was a good thing. Obama is out there in the county, McCain is not. Missouri has to go red, yet here we are wringing our hands over Ohio and cheering a poster’s description of an Ohio Obama event. OHIO IS NOT IN PLAY, the media wants it to be, but it is not. Our job here is to keep getting the Obama news out there, and quit bleating everytime someone posts a poll.
This is not good people.
Very strange
LOL. Well, who knows what evil lurks in that barely-beating heart of Dick Cheney.
88/7 among Hillary supports - yeah, okay.
I saw a similar story. They said the only county in south eastern Ohio that might go for Obama was Athens county.. Ohio U gives that one to Obama. The problem in those South Eastern Ohio counties is the local democrat officials are not going to lift a finger to get out the vote for Obama.
I grew up in the Democratic party. I remember how much effort it took every election to get the rank and file democrats to the polls and voting. It was a huge effort. It blew my mind when I got involved in a Republican campaign, and found some locals thought it was not nice to organize drivers and phone operators to organize getting older people and other voters to the polls.
I read in the La Times that in Virginia, West Virginia, South western PA and Southern Ohio they were having trouble getting Democratic precinct workers to canvas for obama. So they tried using unions only to find the same problem with union workers. In many cases the anti obama people extended up to county chairmen.
I am thinking that Hillary won Scioto County by something like 10 to 1 or 2. And Lawrence county was even worse for Obama. Hillary won Kentucky by something like 2 to 1 and every county that bordered KY went for Hillary just like the county across the river except Hamilton.
The media thinks those Hillary votes were pro Hillary votes. Some were but many were not. They were for Hillary but the reason was anti Obama.
A very informative report. Thanks...
“This morning Obama held a rally in Chillicothe Ohio.”
Thanks for your report. That helps put it into perspective.
That’s a great report. One other helpful thing about dems not liking Obama, it will be harder to play games at the polls, if not everyone is in the tank for him.
