Not to ruffle any feathers, but the only republican in our primary field this cycle who could have beaten BO was Rudy.
In a debate he would have ripped him to shreds. In a field of 6 or 8 it is hard to shine. But one on one he is great. And has so much more passion than either of these guys.
McCain is more conservative on some social issues, but Rudy is the stronger leader and better equipped to handle the economic issues as well.
And I always thought that Rudy would have been better on many conservative issues at the national level than he was in NYC just because almost all of the city is run by rats. More support in critical areas.
The base would NEVER show up for Rudy in the kind of numbers we need to beat Obama. Get real.

It's because of Rudy's liberal position on social issues that he didn't get the nomination. The Republican primary consists of over 50% Christians who will not vote for a pro-abortion candidate.
Yes, Rudy would have eaten bambi alive. That’s why the left worked so hard to stop Rudy. They were scared to death of him. So they worked on conservatives to turn them against Rudy and and and...the left wanted us to have McCain as our nominee...so they made sure that happened. They never believed conservatives would support McCain. If McCain had NOT selected Sarah Palin...he’d for sure have lost the election. He will win the election now. But I totally agree...as far as Rudy is concerned.
