PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08

Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3

While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

Ok, this is weird. Krauthammer thinks McCain won this first half of the debate, on the economy, and NOT the second half on foreign policy. ????

Maybe he’s listening to the luntz focus group who just said the same thing...basically.

I don’t know what is up with Krauthammer lately. He hasn’t agreed with anything since Sarah was put on the ticket.

I noticed how enthusiastic the majority of them were in wanting to greet McCain — several of the men in the front row actually stood up to shake his hand — but sat down when Obama came around to do the same.

I thought that pretty obvious too.

“DUMB ...or as someone else pointed out, they didn’t want to be seen as going against Obama.”

Luntz stated that the group thought McCain won on the economy, but when he asked them with the camera pointed at them, it looked like less than half raised their hand. Is that what the term “The Bradley Effect” means?

They are in love with this fake. Its hormones. If you think this fool can be an effective president then you deserve what happens. I can’t believe how Fu%^& stupid the American public has become. What the hell are we fighting for?

We have a spoiled country of iPodders, iPhoners, Crackberry texters, and Beamer drivers whose main interest is their Netflix queue. They want the US to be "sophisticated" like Europe. The Democratic Party has positioned itself well to be the party that is hip and trendy to appeal to these.

Regardless of who wins they are going to have a tough four years and their celebrity idols will not be able to help them. The new car smell will wear off Obama pretty quick at the unemployment office.

The audience were/was zombies. The questions were generic.

My twelve year old, conservative, nephew could have done better in the first half hour than McCain did. So yeah...

No, we need Governor Palin for that duel, LOL. She’d take Aunt Esther’s scowl right off her face.

Anyone who wants free health care is already voting for the socialist. Who do they think they’re fooling?

I thought it was interesting that the Luntz group seemed to indicate that McCain was winning on the economy, or the first half of the debate?? That would back up the Hotline poll that McCain has been polling well with voters on the economy. I think there’s another poll out there that’s similar.

Obama’s stoned in that picture. Those are the eyes of someone on some type of opiate.
