While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.
Nonsense. A debate does not a president make. McCain just didn’t overwhelm in the debate, but lose the White House because of it...Naw.
I liked his closing
McCain in answerring this last question is WAY out-*sacrificing* Obama on the *sacrificing* front. Obama doesn’t like to be out-done in what his family and single parentage *sacrificed*.
yes, it was his finest moment.
I am like Brit, though. There weren’t any really memorable
moments in this debate. Too bad, too.
It is beyond me why any political candidate would constantly remind the electorate that his mother collected food stamps. Why he thinks that is a selling point is lost on me.
The debate was blah, we learned nothing new.
GREAT CLOSE by McCAIN!
I bet the THAT ONE comment is going to become a sound bite
“...Yup, McCain just won the whole evening with that last speech. It was beautiful...”
I’ve had my fingers in my ears and was screaming. What did he say?
McCain’s closing trumped Obama.......Obama rambling about getting into the right college? LOL......McCain pledged himself to serving his country.
I watched the crowd, the men and most of the women seemed to like McCain, there was a handful that really really liked Obama, mostly women, they looked bored when Mac Spoke.
Not bad overall, the “buy mortgages” things made me squelch thevolume, I know why he said it, but I disagree with the notion 95%.
If only we could get the message out to Iran. If only they knew that we’d let them back into the civilized world if they’d give up the nukes. Surely, they’ve never heard that message before. i mean, they aren’t talking to other nations. And they don’t own TVs, so they can’t have any idea what we expect of them.
Is Obama really that vaccuous? Does he not realize that face-to-face meetings are nothing but photo-ops? Or does he expect to hammer things out with Ahmad like the Gipper did with Gorby? If so, he better have Star Wars in his back pocket, or the tiny dictator will own him.
Thanks — very timely too!
You are right about that.
Maybe Obama should try Kenya first.
an answer from the adult
What’d they do, hand out disposable cameras to everybody?
Did they move the election up to tomorrow? Didn't think so. Buck up, he did fine. Obama is stuck on stupid and people can see the same dog and pony show with him each time.
