...flying at low altitude to avoid radar. ... Passengers included five senior American generals and three civilians

I call BS. An airplane "flying low to avoid radar" would not be hauling "five senior American generals".

Any airplane hauling "five American Generals" would fly at normal altitudes and routes.

My son served two tours as a Weapons Director in Iraq, essentially a controller who handled both military and civillian traffic in Iraq.

That type of airplane was flown on designated airways from Turkey, and was tracked by radar and must be in radio contact with controllers in both Turkey and Iraq.

They were given an ID code before leaving Turkey and if they were not squawking that code, they were sent back.

It is impossible that one became lost or was not flying an assigned route and altitude in addition to the ID code.

“Any airplane hauling ‘five American Generals’ would fly at normal altitudes and routes.”

What if they were *secret* generals dispatched from the Shadow World by Lord Cheney to bring death to the muslim hordes?
