Thomas Sowell is one of the clearest thinkers and writers I have ever read. He always gets to the point, and clears the muddied waters. It must be generational, he puts younger columnists to shame by never getting sidetracked.

A man of words but not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds ... during the first debate, Obama stated that inspite of the debt suddenly foisted upon the fed, he would consider 'early childhood/kindergarten an area where we must spend more despite the financial load it entails.' When Lehrer asked what new programs the candidates would consider cutting back on if elected, Obama went first to the thing he and Bill AYers had worked on int he Chicago area, spending more than $200,000,000 without much to show for it leaving Obama telling the Illinois legislature they needed a massive infusion of more money to accomplish the 'reforms' Ayers and he in their 'charitable foundations' envisioned.
It scares the bejeebers out of me when I read a column from Thomas Sowell addressing the same dark notions rumbling in my own novice brain. I'm so thankful for his insights.

His words expressing lofty ideals may appeal to the gullible but his long history of having no principles makes him a danger of the first magnitude in the White House.Dr. Sowell always gets to the truth behind the curtain.

Thanks for the ping.
If Sarah had been friends with Timothy McVeigh, would the MSM give her an "Ayers pass"?

“Why were the Soviets concerned about a purely domestic American issue like an air traffic controllers’ strike? Why was their attention not confined to “the real issues” between the United States and the Soviet Union?
Because one of the biggest and realest of all issues is the outlook and character of the President of the United States.
It would be hard to imagine any of Ronald Reagan’s predecessors over the previous several decades whether Republicans or Democrats who would have broken a nationwide strike instead of caving in to the union’s demands.
This told the Soviet leaders what Reagan was made of, even before he got up and walked out of the room during negotiations with Mikhail Gorbachev. That too let the Soviet leaders know that they were not dealing with Jimmy Carter any more.
There is no more real issue today than “Who is the real Barack Obama behind the image?”
Barack Obama : Who Are YOU, and What Are You Hiding?
