Actually, Conley is more of a Libertarian Democrat than a Blue Dog Democrat as its currently difined.
While it’s important to elect as many Republican Senators as possible this year, this race is the exception to that rule.

Sorry. I tried being a conservative Democrat as a young man 15 years ago. On one of the most conservative college campuses in the nation. There's no room for such thought in that party. Further, as long as that guy would support his own party leadership in the Senate then he's no good as a conservative.
He's in the wrong party or he's lying through his teeth to get elected.
