"I was reading my copy of the New York Times the other day," she said.
"Booooo!" replied the crowd.
"I knew you guys would react that way, okay," she continued. "So I was reading the New York Times and I was really interested to read about Barack's friends from Chicago."
It was time to revive the allegation, made over the weekend, that Obama "pals around" with terrorists, in this case Bill Ayers, late of the Weather Underground. Many independent observers say Palin's allegations are a stretch; Obama served on a Chicago charitable board with Ayers, now an education professor, and has condemned his past activities.
"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," Palin said.
"Boooo!" said the crowd.
"And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.
"Boooo!" the crowd repeated.
"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.
Palin went on to say that "Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers's living room, and they've worked together on various projects in Chicago." Here, Palin began to connect the dots. "These are the same guys who think that patriotism is paying higher taxes -- remember that's what Joe Biden had said. And" -- she paused and sighed -- "I am just so fearful that this is not a man who sees America the way you and I see America, as the greatest force for good in the world. I'm afraid this is someone who sees America as 'imperfect enough' to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country."
"Boooo!" said the audience.

The blogs on the right have been talking about Bill Ayers for many MONTHS....I wonder if talking about it now by the McCain camp is too little too late? It’s going to be seen as desperation by the MSM, of course...I think what McCain/Palin needs to do is combine the story about Ayers’ connections to Obama with questions about judgement...what kind of President associates at ALL, in any way, with an unrepentant domestic terrorist who was part of an organization that planted bombs at the Pentagon, robbed banks, and killed two police officers? Framed that way, I think it helps to bring up these questionable Obama associations.
“Many independent observers say Palin’s allegations are a stretch”
Ah yes, the unnamed “independent” observers. I guess this is like “some people” who claim blah blah blah.
Journalistic malpractice.
BTW I doubt anyone yelled “kill him” but if they did the odds may be good that it was a plant from the little o’s camp to make it look like Palin’s supporters are violent racists.
Just another scumbag tactic from the king of scumbags.
—kill him-—
Good gawd, wake up and smell the bias.
I saw the Keating 5 Ad....tee hee...
Now this is a great job of going on the offensive.
Palin is doing a great job of getting the word out on 0bama & sounding good doing it. The ‘Rats should also be knocked for criticizing her experience, because she looks like the most effective campaigner bar none here.
One man says this and we hear that kind of stuff on their side everyday on TV but this is NEWS. Some kind of pissed.
It's the New York Times, remember. They invent stories, quotes, and even people. I seriously doubt someone yelled "Kill him."
CNN’s protect-obama response team had the denials out.
FOLKS THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WERE COVERING FOR CLINTON HAVING SEX IN THE OVAL OFFICE.
(and there was a video tape and there was the dress)
THEN they said it was not about lying under oath it was just physical fun fun time.
October surprises work!
It's nice that we have one on our side for a change.
McCain/Palin just need to focus on 4 issues for the next 4 weeks and keep pounding away at them:
William Ayers
Rev. Wright
Obama/Dems Fannie/Freddie connections
Obamas proposed tax increases
Probably a reporter for the WSJ.
He was probably thinking of Obama supporter Sandra Berhard musing about Palin being gang banged in Harlem (she hastens to point out she did NOT use the word rape).
Hmmm, sounds like all that the audience said today was “Boo” and “Kill him”. However, I was there and it was a much more positive, energetic and happy event than the writer protrayed (and I certainly didn’t hear anyone talking about killing anyone).
Yeah what can you expect from the the mainstream press.
“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience...
..., while spitting out tobacco juice on the ground and fiddling around with his big pitchfork casually propped on his right shoulder. A rather large man standing nearby, the guy with the hangmans noose, hollered to “String him up!” right before Sarah Palin declared “Not until every last Harry Potter book has been burned!!!”
I heard someone yell,
COOL RIMS....obviously they like her glasses!!!!
That was my exact response. How convenient that he just happened to overhear someone in the crowd say “kill him” What BS!
Funny, I keep hearing the Obama campaign claiming Obama has condemned Ayers, but I can’t find the actual documentation where Obama actually condemned Ayers.
Anybody know when and where 0 did this?
