The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 44%. This is the highest level of support ever recorded for Obama and is his largest lead of the year. It also continues a remarkable twenty-five days in a row where the Democrat’s support has never declined by even a single point. The Democratic candidate has gained six full percentage points of support since Lehman Brothers collapsed to start the Wall Street mess ...

If Obama gets in 2009, we’ll still be counting the dead in 2012.

McCain knockout in debate tomorrow not going to happen....MSM calls repubs losers everytime

Poll reflects no help by Palin debate....BS

I don’t think its possible to make definitive conclusions from these polls. Chuck Todd 2004 article posted last night had landslide victory for Kerry. I don’t believe they reflect what is going to happen(barring voter fraud).

“It is delusional to believe that Sarah Palin has a national political future if she loses this election.”

Interesting comment.

I’m thinking that - after all the abuse she has received from the media - Palin may just decide that national politics isn’t worth the hassle, and go back to Alaska and do her thing there as long as she likes.

The problem is, the morons living in this country are not looking for a president, they are looking for a messiah to lead them to the promised land. Big bucks for everyone with no requirement for you to work and pay your own way.

Sorry, I don’t buy it.

Obama is probably a few points ahead, but there is no way that he wins this election by eight points. If he wins at all, it’ll be a squeaker like 2000. This is still very winnable for McCain/Palin.

I just watched a couple of clips of Axelrod and one of Obama’s media guys try to defend Ayers. They could not.

And Axelrod may have opened up a can worms as he aid Obama has no idea about Ayrers past during 1995 party at Ayers house (BS).

This thuing is going to tighten up by week’s end if they allow Sarah to continue slamming him.

Anyone think pollsters don't have an agenda?

Obviously Rasmussen is a cheerleader for whatever Democratic Party hack is running.

He hopes to convince non-socialists that they might as well stay home because their votes won't matter.

If you don't want the U.S.A. following the Zimbabwe path, you better drive, walk, or crawl to vote for McCain/Palin.Idly watching a proven Marxist become president condemns America to a bleak future.

Are we going to start with the drama queen biz again? OK, I’ll say it: the sky is falling; we’re dooooomed and so on. As for Rasmussen, I’m not buying it. More Dems than Republicans in his surveys and it just doesn’t reflect what’s truly going on. Stay the course people.

Exactly. She can concentrate on keeping her backyard clean, do some serious foreign poilcy/economic study and get ready. I still think Mac can pull this out though. But can you imagine her at the top of the ticket how powerful she’ll be? Awesome!

Exactly. The media will NEVER call it a victory for McCain. CNN and CBS will have their stacked focus groups, and their bogus flash poll that will be picked up across the country by AP, Yahoo, and AOL. It's sad that we have to fight a canidate and every single media outlet as well.

Nothing against Governor Palin, but if McCain had put the finance Governor on the ticket, he'd be flying. It could change, but he may have won a battle and lost the war. We'll know in four weeks.
His advisers warned him.

"Palin is the draw both in tv and appearances...she is a someone to contend with and I am certain Rasmussen has it wrong."

What a lot of people seem to be forgettng is that Palin isn't running for President, McCain is, and McCain has been allowing Obama a practically free ride. There have been too many lost opportunities for McCain to set Obama on his arse, especially his friendhip with terrorists, racists and thugs; as well as his role in the current financial crisis w/ Fannie Mae. McCain does not seem to want the Presidency as much as Obama does. And McCain does not seem to want to let Sarah Palin loose as much as his base does. He's not fighting a good fight at all. Rush was correct last week when he said "You can't prove that McCan isn't in the tank for Obama".

Underneath/above the “nation of idiots” is core conservative reality. And that, folks, is what will win this election for us. Don’t both to blame me if you disagree. I’m not listening to the negative.

Perhaps that needs to be the topic.

“Rasmussen Reports will be 39.3% Democratic, 33.3% Republican, and 27.4% unaffiliated.”

Why do they bother?

An 8% lead is significant. Even more significant is the fact that Obama has hit 52%.

Try as I might, I just cannot figure who are these voters who were previously undecided or for McCain, and have now switched to Obama because of the economy. What has Obama done to make them choose him based on economic circumstances? I don’t get it.

Obama managed to capitalize on his 2004 fame because he proved to be an amazing fundraiser. Without it, he would not make it out of Iowa.

If Palin wants to compete in 2012, she’d better be as good in raising funds as Obama. Can she do it? Will she try? - I guess in a year or two we’ll know the answer.

And, of course, McCain can still pull it off - on intrade he is trading at 0.34, and British bookies give him about 25% chance.
